Just thought some of the people in here may be interested.

The Super Mario 64 decompilation has been officially released, brought to you by a bunch of clever folks. This could allow all sorts of things to be possible for Mario 64, from mods, bug fixes, complete overhauls, graphical updates, emulation, etc etc.

`This repo contains a full decompilation of Super Mario 64 (J) and (U). The source and data have been decompiled but complete naming and documentation all of the code and data is still a work in progress. Decompiling the (E) ROM is also an ongoing effort.`

Just a warning, this is pretty big news. If you’ve got any interest in this sort of thing, I would recommend grabbing a copy for yourself before Nintendo starts taking things down.

I hope this leads to more informative mind blowing Super Mario 64 mechanics videos from pannenkoek2012 like this one: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpk2tdsPh0A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpk2tdsPh0A)

This kind of cool and clever innovation is exactly why copyrights should have never been allowed to be extended to near infinite lengths.
