Going by inflation alone isn’t really accurate. Things are less affordable for most people due to increased income inequality. Wages haven’t kept up with increased prices
I agree with this, as while real prices haven’t increased as much as nominal, wage growth in key console markets (especially Japan) has stagnated.
But all things are relative and if Nintendo ends up with the most affordable console out there, it’s their game to win, even if overall console hardware sales fall gen-on-gen.
