Ridge Racer 3D was basically Ridge Racers 3 and featured mechanics from 7, like slipstreaming.
Agreed that Ridge Racer 7 still looks incredible, but as a Ridge Racer game I thought it was a downgrade from 6 in some ways.
The racing in 7 is less pure, since there’s a huge focus on vehicle upgrades which means you can never quite know if your vehicle is over-speced relative to the stage you’re about to play. This could have been fixed if there was a recommended machine rating that could be compared between machines and courses.
Appreciate that you’re here for the arcade mode, though, which is still as thrilling as modern “Ridge Racers” era RR is, and isn’t hurt in the same way the campaign is.
Did you ever get to try the stereoscopic 3D mode that was added as 3D license DLC?
