The UK was subjected to a minimum taxation rate by the EU, so maybe to help boost the economy after Brexit finally happens the first thing that should be done it to reduce VAT back to at least 17%.
Sadly though I’m not naive enough to think this will actually happen.
That is actually the market price for a boxed copy.
I paid ~£120 ($150) for my boxes copy in Dec 2017 and that was the lowest I’d been able to find in many months of watching as prices slowly creeped up. I was able to use a 20% eBay coupon to take the sting out.
I was just looking at the same reused pictures across multiple listings which means an item has been listed on Mercari/Auctions/etc and eBay sellers are being cheeky and selling something they don’t have in their posession and will try to buy it after they sell their listing, or cancel if it’s already been sold. “Just in time” reselling.
Regarding this specific game, I’ve watched it over many years before and after buying my copy and sold prices of boxed Japanese version have been north of £100 for all that time. As I understand it the Japanese Tengen games are highly sought after.
So I’m currently using HOYOYO, despite their website being appalling, for a few reasons:
they do Mercari! and they will negotiate lower/best prices for you! Every single time I get money off the Mercari asking price. For zero effort.
They have some nice coupons/offers, example: this month they are waiving fees for all YAJ purchases, no limits.
Their shipping is substantially cheaper than FromJapan and Buyee, using the same provider FedEx.
I make their website run better by using a VPN that puts my connection in Asia, and I do my searching through FromJapan (which searches multiple services at once) and Mercari app, and then just add the items manually to HOYOYO.
