LABO - Nintendo’s New Way to Play Specifically for Kids Announcement

Must be generational. Also the types of girls one dates probably plays a big factor. When I was in my dating prime I surfed a few times a week and most of the girls I dated I met on the beach. Beach Girl and gamer girl probably doesn’t have a huge overlap. I can probably count on one hand the number of women/girls I played games with in person.

The generations behind me seem to have more girls into gaming which is pretty cool. Suffice it to say, my wife doesn’t game with me and she often shakes her head at my hobby. I can’t blame her. When we met I was tan and fit now I am pale and pudgy. /shrug

But, I agree with the sentiment of if you’re comfortable with yourself others will be comfortable, generally…except in the work place for some reason -_- sigh.

I would think that more women would be into gaming than say, in the 89s/90s. Mainly because more people are gaming in general from mobile to console.

I dont think my collecting has ever ruined anything for me, but quite a few girls have questioned how i as a grown man working at a university could spend so much time and money on something so useless.

My dating prime was the 2000s. I didn’t have friend who really we’re gamers. Not like me anyway. Wed play Street Fighter and Tekken and Mario Kart but rarely did I ever meet anyone who was really into rpgs or obscure Japanese games like I was.

Best Buy has the LABO Variety Kit listed for $56. Cheapest I’ve seen

Amiibo would be the real date mood killer…

Ironically I have some because my last girlfriend bought them for me and started it…

Haha, I am glad i havent been dropped into that rabbit hole…yet!

That girl must have been good though, figuring that you didnt collect enough video game-stuff already, so starting you on even more…!

It’s a big difference though.

Shelf full of Famicom games - hmm, semi cultural and antique-esque.
Shelf of PS3/Switch games - well all boys play video games
Shelf of Splatoon Amiibo - weaboo neckbeard

I think that’s true actually. I keep my amiibo in a cupboard.

Shelves full of old videogames and consoles can look good though.
