Now I see it listed as “Windows”, which is a bit misleading as Cannonball is multi-platform. I’ve only played it on N3DS and Switch.

Ah, very true but it did originate on Windows. The other ports are unofficial acording to the cannonball site.

We all loved the sound from the Sega Mega drive judging from the comment section but it seems people may not be educated on the sound of the Super Nintendo. Back as a kid I was in to both consoles very heavily (and the PC Engine) so I got to hear the best of each system. Both the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo have their own unique sound. Both have pluses and minuses.

Sit back and enjoy just over an hour of some quality music from the Super Nintendo.

And yes, I know there are many good game tracks missing. Don’t worry, this is volume 1. Plok and the rest will be coming (^o^)

This week on Battle of the Ports is a game I loved as a young boy. back in 1989 I was 14 and loved playing Geoff Crammond’s Stunt Car Racer on my mates Amiga.

Let’s take a look at all the ports including an unofficial Windows remake.

Welcome to the second Battle of the Ports Remastered series. Today we are revisited Final Fight. The original video released on 30th August 2013 only covered 11 versions of the game and ran at 30fps 720p without any voice-over.
This remastered video runs at 60fps 1080p with voice-over and includes 14 unique versions of Final Fight and that doesn’t include emulations of the arcade rom running on other platforms such as that found on the PS2’s Final Fight Street Wise or compilation packs and virtual consoles.

Before your video, I had no idea the X68000 version supported Roland and I found this video that uses it… It is a pretty neat rendition of the soundtrack!

I always enjoyed “Euro run 'n gun” games like this, and since I didn’t have an Amiga in the early '90s, I would use the Genesis and SNES to get my fix of those.

I like how you mentioned the positive aspects of the SMS version which often gets overlooked. For years I assumed that was a watered down port but it turned out to be my favourite version due to how the enemies splatter and the quick pace (even faster when played on an NTSC machine). I didn’t have access to the PAL version back in the day but I wish I had at least bought the GG one.

The trouble is, they are part of America, along with every country in North and South America. It’s the “Americans” that like to take the whole of the name for themselves for some reason.
