Battle of the Ports - Power Drive
120htz display, dlp projector and powerful enough to run Game Cube emulation! The Tank 2 Pro from Unihertz.
excellent as always - so typical of the era though, i see the colecovision port and quickly went from impressed to hearing about the controls and thinking “yeah, this happened a lot”: good looking ports that didn’t seem to emphasize controls
as someone who was recently trying the master system port of double dragon, i felt this one, haha
I have to admit loving the Master System version of Double Dragon but then again that’s all I had back in the day
It’s amazing how good Pitfall! is on the 2600. The controls are just so tight. And at the time it looked amazing as well. Activision really made their name in that era with so many great games.
We need a Battle of the Ports for River Raid! I’m guessing there were a similar number of ports for that game?
I’m sure there must be many clones of River Raid but I wonder how many ports? This is something to look in to for a future show
I looked at the Wikipedia page and there are a similar number to Pitfall! Intellivision, ColecoVision, Atari 800, Commodore 64, MSX, 5200, Spectrum…
Nice. I’ll add it to the list for a future show.
This week on Battle of the Ports we have a rare case where we cover a game that started life on the Sharp X68000. This is Sol-Feace
A little early this week. This is Battle of the Ports - Heavy Nova.
Yet another game that started life on the Sharp X68000
This was great. I had no idea about the beginning of Bomberman.
Previously we took a look at the original Bomberman. well, today we take a look at the modern Bomberman that defined the series to this very day.
This week on Battle of the Ports is a very nice looking game from a developer you’ve probably never heard of.
The game that started the amazing Thunder Force series is probably not what you expected.
This week on Battle of the Ports.
