Armadillo Racing. SO weird…so fun. And some Aqua Jet too
The only reason we play the second one more is that it supports more than 3 or 4 players. The first only supports 2 which makes it less fun for local multiplayer gaming nights.
Also, if you like this type of arena beat 'em up, have you played Treasure’s Rakugaki Showtime PS1?
I have not tried it. I’ll have to add it to my list of things to check out! Thanks for the Rec
I remember going mad wanting this game for my C64 back in the day. What made it rather hard was that you had to hold fire, hold L/R at the same time make them rotate, meaning when you needed to change firing direction your dude was moving all over the screen, and you also couldn’t’ shoot and move at the same time. I never saw it in the arcades, but that Dragon boss was a sexy siren always tempting me with his ribbed sexiness. Graphics were awesome for the time though. 3
I wanted to play the arcade version for so long. Currently eyeing the arcade batch the switch has. I think the game would work well with dual sticks.
Games with the twisty stick set up always fascinated me. Midnight Resistance was one I played quite a bit and used it well with some levels needing you to run away from an enemy while also shooting at them. It also had (in my mind) the best flamethrower I’d even seen in a game.
Spinner games were definitely always unique. A rarely used mechanic but always fun when you found a game that used it
Cosmic smash is one of those super simple games that you can play for hours. I do feel that it should have been released as a cheaper titles though.
Yes it’s definitely a “small” game and could have been cheaper at launch. I just wish it was the same size as every other Dreamcast game. I do like the dvd case but on my shelves it looks so out of place!
Buy Under Defeat and Trigger Heart Exelica so it won’t look so out of place!
Also, there’s dvd style case releases of Eternal Arcadia (skies of Arcadia), Karasu and a few others.
