It doesn’t work at all so I am sending it back. I figured I would get a 4K version but honestly, I only need1080p switch with 5 or more hdmi ports.
This is how everything is currently routed
Input 1 - TV
Input 2 - PS4 Pro
Input 3 - XBOX 1 X (and PC if i swap the HDMI cable)
Input 4 - 3 port Switch Switch, Wii U & Analogue NT
I would like to have 1 input for my OSSC or Framemeister and another for the Super NT. Right now I just unplug the HDMI switch and plug the OSSC or Framemeister directly into the TV.
I would get a receiver but space is an issue as well as input lag. I heard many of them add input lag and I don’t want to deal with anymore lag on top of what I am currently dealing with.
I’d love to know what you guys are using because I think I am going to add a few more HDMI consoles to the mix.
I have two of these and they work fine. You don’t really need a power cord for it unless you chain them; it will even auto-switch without a power cord. They are a generic from-China design so you can find them from different sellers with different logos and probably for a better price.
They don’t support 4K (HDMI2 / HDCP 2.2) no matter what they say. You can pipe YUV 4:2:0 4k @ 60Hz with no HDR but that’s not ideal for several reasons. But if you only need up to 1080p then these work fine.
I’ve had this since December of 2016 and I’ve had no problems with it. It’s only 1080p but for the systems I have connected to it that seems fine.
I had a monoprice one that shit the bed on me. I thought my tv was going but thankfully it was just the HDMI switcher. Also annoying about the monoprice stuff is most of them don’t come with the AC power supply they need.
well this one shit the bed on me. Its not pushing through all the signals automatically anymore and my tv just hangs waiting for info. I think I am going to get the monoprice 8x1 since i need more inputs anyway.
I still wonder why it is so hard to find a simple HDMI switch that just passes though the full data of a selected input. Every time I try to look for one I get overwhelmed by how many there are all with people claiming they do or don’t work for various things.
Another idea seems to be to hope whatever AV Receiver I go with when I switch over to a surround sound setup has enough inputs and doesn’t fuck with them at all/supports all the HDMI stuff I want.
Didn’t even look into the Extron ones though, thanks.
If anyone is looking for a high quality Zero Lag and reasonable price HDMI switch box the I recommend this https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B07B6VJ963/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It’s the Club3D SenseVision HDMI K HZ UHD 4in/1out Switch Box Switch Box. Has 4 inputs. Can handle 4k video with HDR at 60htz so it’s amazing for modern games too. Been using mine for almost a year now. Oh, and it is auto switching or you can use a remote.
