RGB Pick Up Thread Of Swag!

Picked up two collector editions this week. Xenoblade had a gnarly ding in the corner. BBY manager knocked 15 off of my GCU price. $65 for the SE edition. I was on the fence about this collectors but that was worth the price difference IMO.

@Socksfelloff inspired the Axiom Verge Double Dip.

I’m mads at the same thing. Literally every copy at my best buy had a ton of damage on them. Going out today to try to find a non shitty version since I’m a huge nerd and I needs it.

Got my l’Abbaye des Morts in the mail. I’m pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the package. The only real downsides are the label on the cart isn’t quite the right size and the print quality seems off a bit. But the extra’s are all of very good quality. No idea if the game is any good tbh, but we’ll find that out soon enough.

/edit: actually, reading through the manual is…well it;s just full of spelling errors. The back of the box too. Huh, you 'd think they’d let someone with a decent grasp of English go over the text. Oh well.

Awe yissss! My Xenoblade SE didn’t make it on time. I hope it arrives before I move!

Especially seeing as the crap (niche gaming tat) is a bunch of stuff between ¥25 and ¥400

is this the winter retro pickups thread now? :U

just got a nice little pce haul in.

earlier in the year i was running through gunhed, super star soldier, and final soldier, but soldier blade kept eluding me. probably overpaid in the end but at this point i just wanted the hunt to be over. it looks to build on final soldier’s options-as-bombs system in some interesting ways, and despite being quite easy that was my favorite of the lot, so i’m pretty hyped about spending some serious time with this one.

the cho aniki games were something that, for whatever reason, i always assumed were kind of uninspired parody games and didn’t give much thought to until i actually gave one a try and then i absolutely had to have these bizarre fever dream games for my own.

magicoal is probably not going to be anything all that special, but it’s kind of cute, has 2P co-op, and got in here just in time to take along while i stay with a friend so i’m pretty happy about that.

Good stuff, I’ve always wanted to try the Rayxanber games, especially III. Have you played them yet?

Not til December 21, it’s not!

In before the Dec 21st deadline!

New rotary controller for my Jag. The packaging and build quality of this controller is amazing.

Pool of Radiance novel trilogy, based on the SSI Gold Box RPG. An Elder Scrolls novel and Metal Dungeon, the last JRPG I need to complete my North American JRPG Xbox collection. ;-p

That is pretty awesome, I assume its for Tempest? How much did that controller end up costing you?

I did a Googletake on that damn controller thinking that I missed something when the Jaguar was out and I was addicted to Tempest 2000!

The rotary controller cost me $125 + S&H. On the expensive side, but the packaging is top notch and the rotary controller is arcade quality. And yes, Jeff Minter wrote rotary controller support into the code for Tempest 2000, in the hopes that Atari would release a rotary controller (they never did) or fans could make their own.

I don’t know if this is a good collection or not but I couldn’t pass up a chance to get a 240p PS2 game.

@Try4ce got me interested in Blaster Master from one of his let’s plays. Super cheap too.

Sweet pick-ups.
I always feel kinda insecure, when it comes to buying those MM collections, mainly because they’re all based upon PlayStation sources, which is a bit of a bummer for a couple of games in the series I especially love (MM8, Rockman X3 and X4).

I actually love the MMX collection on PS2. The SNES games run without slowdown, which is great and instantly noticeable in the first level of the first game. Shame it has the Playstation version of X3, where the music isn’t as good, but overall it’s a great package.

And yes, 240p

I have never understood the reverence for x3’s SNES soundtrack. It sounds like robots taking a noisy dump.

Whoa, settle down. This isn’t a Sega Genesis soundtrack here.

Shots fired!

Yep, that MLIG video made me aware of Blasting Again. I need to get both of these.
