RGB Pick Up Thread Of Swag!

I got two of my recent Ebay wins in the mail today. Alisia Dragoon and Elemental Master for the Mega Drive. Both in good condition, better than expected actually. Especially Elemental Master, for which they used a stockphoto on Ebay. Some plastic is torn from the box, but the rest is in almost mint condition.

Forgot I ordered The Tower SP! I hadn’t realised there were two more revisions by Yoot Saito’s company Vivarium on DS and DSiWare until it was too late. You’d think the increased viewing space and touch controls are a better fit.

Still, it will be a fun curio to try out, and much to my surprise this version apparently has better controls than the PC/Mac releases anyway according to this in-depth blog post: Review: The Tower SP (GBA) | The Gameshelf

Yeah - and the sun and lens flare! Noticed they are absent on GC/Xbox, at least in the first championship races.

Not sure about 480p - unfortunately my PAL GC copy only does 60hz, but the PS2 version is 60hz too to my surprise. Supports 16:9 as well.

I think GC/Xbox run at a higher resolution, the PS2 version seems to be half the vertical resolution like Ridge Racer V.

Got these over the weekend…

I remember the massive debate over the sparks in Burnout on competing systems back then. Oh how far we’ve come…

Got damn! That’s a haul!

Nice! Two Alisia Dragoon’s today. Funny, I have Truxton ordered as well

I was waiting for this! Another Truxton and Phelios. :star_struck:

Phelios nice!!!

I’d want to get Elemental Master, but is super expensive plus theres no PAL release :frowning:

The Japanese edition works on a PAL machine (I do have a modded MD, but I think it works on a regular PAL machine as well). I got my copy for less than 40 EUR without shipping, so it should be possible to get it a bit cheaper than the current high prices they’re asking for it. But I was taking a bet, since the seller didn’t add a photo of the item. Luckily I only have to replace the box, the rest is in excellent condition (but perhaps I should test if it’s a replica before I consider myself lucky).

Was that from eBay and was it 40 EUR for just the cart and instructions?

Love all the sega love here lately!

Yes Ebay and it was actually 34 EUR for cart, box (plastic is torn) and instructions. It looks and feels legit, but I don’t know how good these Chinese copies are nowadays. I have the feeling it’s a little too good to be true.

I’ve compared my copy of Elemental Master with photos of other listings on Ebay and two other Japanese MD games I own and I don’t see anything that makes me believe it’s a fake. Unless everyone is selling fakes nowadays. It sucks the screws are below the sticker on the back of the cartridge, I don’t want to ruin the sticker.

You might be able to tell by the weight of the cart if its a repo, they tend to be very light

Did the seller have more than 1 for sale then?

Good idea. I just put Elemental Master on a scale: 51,3 grams, while the Newzealand Story is a little bit lighter with 49,4 grams. Rainbow Islands Extra is a different type of shell, but in the same range: 52,1 grams (it is missing a small piece of plastic from the shell).

The seller didn’t have more copies of this game for sale. He has more than 17000 items for sale, so perhaps this one just slipped through.

three very similar games

Pulstar is the last game that I want to buy on the NGCD, but I’m too cheap to pay the $80-100 people want for it.

I paid $140 lol

People poo-poo the load times but it’s tolerable enough if you turn off the new (rather uninteresting) FMVs. It’s the “visual” option in the menu
