Nice! Shots look great, do you have a rom or patch link??
Yep:
KVAR25M31 MD VA1 via RGB with composite video disabled.
I’m really trying to like Sonic 3 but it has been tough going - I finished the first half with all chaos emeralds and now I’m going for all of the emeralds in 3 & Knuckles. Great music and visuals but I still think Sonic 2 is the pinnacle of 16 bit Sonic.
I never heard of this game until now!
One for Treasure fans as Hiroshi Iuchi worked on the backgrounds. It’s a quirky, beautify stylised action game but honestly not worth the money it goes for in todays market. The Saturn was my console so I paid £200 for it but honestly I don’t think it was worth that even before the price went absolutely mental.
What kind of CRT is this? Love the softness.
FFVII // Sony PVM 8042-Q // PS2 Slim // HD Retrovision component cables
As God Tetsuya Nomura intended.
Just some more Sonic 3 on my Sony KVAR25M31 - MDVA1. Got all of the hyper emeralds, never want to see another Blue Sphere stage again.
It’s Samsung CS15k8mjq Scart RGB crt tv.
Shin Nekketsu Kouha - Kunio-tachi no Banka, SNES, PVM-14L2MD
The Ninjawarriors Again, SNES, PVM-14L2MD
It looks so clean! I love how soft and organic it looks without the usual composite artifacts
There’s still some. There’s rainbowing especially visible on high contrast white/black stripes, you can see some of that in the background, and there’s a small amount of dot crawl on some edges not present in this scene. It seems that red or blue vertical lines to black produce the strongest dot crawl.
But I’m amazed at how good it looks, it’s about 1000x times better than what I was getting testing composite to framemeister.
(sorry for the double post) I encountered a PVM last night unexpectedly - I was at an after works drinks with a mate and their video production guy (who wasn’t present) keeps an AV cart at the office with an RGB modded NES and a 20" PVM.
I didn’t grab the model number but it was a 20" Trinitron that had component inputs. Pretty jealous now actually!
Unmodded MD2 VA0 on a 13" sony PVM - the RGB on this MD is really quite nice and bright. Apparently, these first few units had the best RGB (no jail bars AT ALL) being quite bright and colourful.
It’s too bad I can’t say the same nice things for the sound, which is plagued by interference even with a PAP cable from RGC.
Looks like maybe a 20M2U
What game is this?
