Xenocrisis
Just some random shots on my PVM20L2 via RGB. It’s been such a busy week that I’ve barely had time to tinker with it. Really loving the clarity and stability of the image - it’s so calm compared to the constantly blooming consumer sets that I’m used to.
Ah, I see you are a person of culture as well.
Finally got around to messing around with the standard and service menu settings on the Sony - Trinitron KV-27FV310. Still needs improvement, but almost there. A little Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker, and Mario Kart Double Dash action on the Nintendo GameCube through Nintendo GameCube DOL-010 Component Cable to the Sony - Trinitron KV-27FV310.
Great shots!
I never would have bothered to hunt down a PVM if we had that set here. I have the closest equivalent but it doesn’t have the voltage regulator so while it has a sharp image it suffers from quite a bit of bloom.
Sorry for the double post but I’ve finally had a chance to sit and tinker with my PVM 20L2 and calibrate it for colour and contrast. What I found was the previous owner had cranked up the sub-brightness and sub-contrast which other than destroying the blacks and scanlines was really putting the voltage regulator through its paces on bright screens. Anyway I’m not completely happy with it yet as I need to make a yoke adjustment and fix some slight convergence issues in the corners.
Thank you!
I just acquired a Capcom Impress from the lovely @New002. Some shots. This is where all of my money is going next year.
It’s true. I am lovely. Enjoy it
Just a few more shots on my PVM20L2 I’m really loving where I’ve got it at the moment and I’ll make some adjustments over the weekend.
What’s that bottom game?
looks like crash bandicoot 2.
Yup it’s Crash 2.
I love the low poly models and snappy colours in that game.
Good low poly stuff still looks so good in RGB on a CRT.
Absolutely - especially gouraud shaded polygons the way the scanlines break them up and add a bit of texture to them is so appealing to me.
Link’s Awakening on my recently acquired monochrome monitor. I don’t even own a composite cable for SNES etc so pulled the image from the composite line on a scart pin, the game is set to black and white so should be pretty close to a plain luma signal.
I picked up a PVM-1351Q yesterday, and after calibrating the colour/brightness/contrast and correcting some geometry/overscan issues, I’m pretty happy with the results:
SNES9X on Wii via Component
Lufia 2
Trials of Mana
Yoshi’s Island
Link to the Past
PlayStation 2 Slim via HD Retrovision Component Cables
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Final Fantasy VII
Breath of Fire IV
Gorgeous shots - love the colour!
Thanks! I’m always drawn to really colourful games.
Here’re a few more on my PVM-1351Q:
Phantasy Star 4
Super Mario Bros 3
Link’s Awakening DX
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
