SCANLINE SCREENSHOT THREAD. BECAUSE 240p IS ALL THE P'S I NEED. (56k warning)

The last week or so has been a complete write off for me with work. But finally this afternoon I was able to boot up my SFC and noodle around for a while.

1 chip SFC via RGB PVM20L2.

This game is on the X68000, FM Towns, and apparently the TG16 as well.

I had no idea that game existed and I fucking loved Iria Zeiram. God damn still remember first seeing it on Saturday Anime.

Genocide G2 was originally made for Sharp X68k / FM Towns and then ported over to SFC. PC Engine version does not exists.

That explains why I had never heard of that version until I saw it on the Wikipedia list. Genocide 2 is one of those games I’ve nearly bought a million times for both FM Towns and X68000.

Been a while since I’ve posted here, and I posted these over on Shmups forum but here’s my current chain:

PS2 via RGsB to an OSSC, scaling 4x in to a VisionRGB E1 capture card. Looks absurdly clean.

What game is this?

Very first scene in Alundra. Really pretty spritework.

Just some goofing around with Castlevania Chronicles with the dither fix applied and a bonus Sparking Meteor! shot from PS2.

Both shots on my Sony PVM20L2 via RGB.

I have developed serious scanline envy due to this thread, stunning.
I’m regretting giving away my Bang & Olufsen CRT now.

Two very quick photos of my Saturn running via HDMI. Better that RGB plus now 100% silence. No more horrid video feedback noise on the audio which the Saturn was known for when using RGB.

It really looks lovely even on a 4k screen.

Here are some fresh shots of Last Blade 2 running in my Neo25 cab. Got a bit carried away

Not too carried away enough! :joy:

I’ve spotted a couple 20 inch 640x480 LCDs at the thrift stores recently… they’ve been on my mind for like a year, since @matt posted those shots last September. Is it worth grabbing one just to have around? Those panels can’t touch a plasma or modern LCD right? The native res for DC and 480p GC/Xbox games does seem appealing (but ultimately unnecessary?).

I should probably grab one just so I never have to think about it again lol

I like mine. I don’t have a main TV just a 720p projector, and I don’t have OSCC or anything because of that. So having a little 640x480 TV to pipe in Wii & PS2 (Component), and DC (VGA) just makes sense for me.

FWIW my Philips TV uses a TFT panel with ~20ms response IPS panel with 12ms response. No ghosting, compared to similar era old PC monitors I have. But yes it’s an old panel with lower max brightness and contrast and colour range than plasma or any modern display tech. But it looks good to me.

Are you seeing TVs or Monitors at that resolution?
