This game is so unfairly maligned. Sure some of the gimmick stages wear a bit thin but the presentation is top notch and the overworld secret hunting adds a fun extra layer to the game.

Looks amazing on the 14L2 those 8 bit graphics look incredible with the soft lines of that PVM. I still need to get my AV Famicom modded - I got sidetracked with component consoles.
I’ve been bragging about this in Discord but I got my VF3 back from repairs recently and it’s the best thing ever.

Had to retire my Trinitron CRT due to space issues and switched to a Dell 2007fpb lcd paired with an OSSC. Was unhappy at first with the image despite it being able to display at 5x but then I discovered setting scanlines to both horizontal and vertical gives it a very CRT-like image. Still not perfect but I’m quite pleased with what I have now.
My 1-chip Super Famicom looks great on this!

Quick edit: Sorry I didn’t give myself time to really say anything when I posed these earlier, but I put them up as an idea reference of what you can do with the ossc’s way of setting individual scanlines per multiple and the additional use of the hybrid function, which can either brighten the image, or add vivid to the color.
The ossc’s main strength is how it works in tandem with the lcd that’s displaying it and in many cases an hdtv vs a pc display will allow more control over the filtering process if it’s fairly compatible.
I actually like how that last one turned out as it gives the characteristics of older tv’s back in the 90’s when pixels were so well blended in.
