Hey all. New to the forums. I’ve found a lot of threads here about repairing old consoles and I’m really hitting a wall here on finding a replacement piece for my cdx. I did a laser replacement recently only to find the laser was DOA. (I’ve since learned the seller is notorious for this). Anyways in all the taking apart and putting back together the tiny capacitor attached to the copper shielding lost both its legs. At first I was sure it was a resistor but then saw it confirmed elsewhere by multiple people that this is a cap. Anyways I’m desperately trying to find the value of this cap to replace it. Any help is super appreciated.

Hi, according to Retrosix:
“If you break this connection here, it is a 1nF capacitor use for capacitive coupling of the ground shields. It is not needed.”
Thanks so much! That’s strange my pico fuse blows when it’s not attached and I’ve found several others with the same issue. Either way I’ll grab one and attach it to be safe thanks again!
Our guy @Danexmurder did a cap replacement on my CDX and videoed the whole thing if you need some reference.
