Sega Saturn |OT| - Playin' Saturn each day keeps Segata away!

Just got a backup cart. The seller had several carts and I chose the Tokimeki one, because Shiori-sama.

The old owner left their saves, it had really good games like Dracula X, Fighting Vipers and Capcom Generations 5. Too bad that some saves were corrupted and I had to format to be able to use the cart.

Cool art I wanna add some art to my action replay cart by making a custom sticker that matches the theme of the Sega Saturn

Amazing game and photo! I might take a similar photo for my Instagram!

Was given a little PC at Christmas by my brother. Not a gaming PC but quiet and small and enough to do RetroArch. The goal is Saturn emulation with my Saturn USB controller.

However, none of the Saturn cores will play Waialae no Kiseki: Extra 36 Holes golf correctly.

Is this expected behaviour? Am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated.

Just tried and had zero issues with the Mednafen / Beetle core, must be a bad rip.

I don’t think I’ve tried that core! I tried 3 others.

The issues I was having we’re definitely emulation-related such as graphics incorrectly layered and/or missing.

I forget golf exists and mostly use Moby Games to look up information retro Japanese PC games so when I see a Moby Games link for “Extra 36 Holes” my mind goes in a completely different direction.

:joy:

Beetle core is the key. No idea how I missed installing that one? Losing my touch!

Now… let’s golf!

Had to generate a controller config file for my SLS Sega Saturn USB controller on Windows RetroArch. I’ll submit it to their GitHub soon as I did with my config from macOS RetroArch.

Playing a lot of Saturn as my main retro diet using Pseudo Saturn but I can’t get certain games to work. I have the all-in-one red cart, great for most games but Slam N Jam bugs the fuck out. Each graphic element on the screen stays there, and during actual gameplay each player has shadows that obscure the whole screen. If you’ve ever gotten the multiple cursors on the screen when Windows acts up, it’s like that.

I don’t think I ever saw it or heard of it until Panzer Dragoon Orta came out on Xbox the following generation. Can’t really reminisce about the anniversary but it’s a decent game that started a really cool series.

Nice, I love Panzer Dragoon series!

25 years?! I remember it so clearly. I played it shortly after the surprise launch in NA. A friend rented the system and we were blown away by Panzer Dragoon. It was crazy to see how the console rail shooter genre had advanced, having lived through games like Star Strike on InTV, Space Harrier on SMS, and Star Fox on SNES.

Panzer Dragoon was one of the first Saturn games I bought after getting the system in 1996. Zwei is a great sequel that polished up the formula, and Saga is still one of the best RPGs ever made.

damn - happy birthday, Panzer Dragoon! god i love this series.

i also love the Wonder Boy-esque revival going down right now - Timu posted the new game (might finally sell me on VR!), the remake has a trailer & a steam listing, but i’m a little worried the updated graphics will kinda lose some of the magic of a moebius alien world? hope i’m wrong here, gonna be in day 1 either way!
