For what platform?
The IBM PC programmer, Vadim Gerasimov, didn’t start at the computer centre until September 1984 and at that time Tetris didn’t exist.

Electronika 60 is what they claim.
Curious! Thanks for the info
The cagey tone Alexey Pajitnov gives in some of the interviews in Tetris Forever actually gives me a Billy Mitchell/Todd Rogers vibe. He’s trying to preserve a narrative.
This has been the case ever since Henk went to Russia. We truly have no idea about any of this. So bizarre.
Man, I’ve never been that passionate about Tetris, but I really appreciate all the attention going into preserving these different versions of the game. My personal favorite version was Tetris Live on the original XBOX that I believe was free with a subscription to XBOX LIVE in the first year or so of the service.
I had just convinced my parents to get broadband the moment XBOX LIVE launched. Everyone used their microphones back then and it really had a party like atmosphere.
People would jump between Tetris Live and Mechassault for hours since those were the two big games on the service before Halo 2 released and became the phenomenon it was.
But Tetris in particular was a great equalizing presence where you’d meet all of these non-gamers that weren’t toxic because it just wasn’t that type of game. It was more conversational.
On the other hand I was harassed by two guys brandishing firearms and downing 2-litre bottles of Coke … whilst playing Uno with my camera switched off.
An interesting take on Tetris Forever
Tetris Forever’s narrative is not the story of Tetris, but the Tetris Company.
Well… did you forget to say Uno?
hahahahaha
The Super Famicom emulator in Tetris Forever seems to be struggling a lot. I’m getting lots of frameskips.
NES Tetris is coming to Nintendo Switch Online on 12/12.
Nintendo what Digital Eclipse don’t
To be fair, they really couldn’t. Nintendo holds the rights to NES Tetris and GB Tetris (and Tetris DX).
Awesome trailer, I appreciate how much effort Nintendo puts into the NSO promotions.
This one is still my favourite:
