The official Retro Core / Battle of the Ports thread

It’s time for some Adult shooting fun with this week’s Battle of the Ports - Steam Heart’s.

Last week I took a look at XDR, a game that Mega Drive Beep magazine rated the worst shooter on the Mega Drive. however, it seems that many viewers of that video thought Curse was worse. Let’s check it out.

How did a crustly old Sinclair QL game become one if not the most impressive racer on other platforms?

Hey @Yakumo I was searching your BotP catalog and was surprised to see you still didn’t have Defender, Joust, and Robotron in there among some others. Had someone talking about 8-bit computer ports of those and thought I’d link a video… and there wasn’t one!

Would definitely love to see some of those classics get the Battle of the Ports treatment.

Ah, Robotron is on the to do list as is Joust. Defender though is not. I live shooters but actually don’t find any enjoyment at all with Defender. Strange isn’t it?

I think the next one out iglf those three ill cover will be Robotron.

It’s time for another Retro Core Remastered. This time we are taking another look at Raiden. The original vidio featured 10 versions of Raiden and one of those was an emulation running on Android. This video features 13 version but actually contains 4 new versions not seen on the original video.
Check it now!

What handheld stayed in Japan but had more limited edtions than anything else?

We’re going propper old school this week on Battle of the Ports with a game that has at least 15 none emulated versions.

Back in the early to mid 90’s, there were so many PC GC based games, but did yo know many actually got ported to other systems?
This week on Battle of the Ports we check out Cyberia.

Classic British humour on this week’s Battle of the Ports

I QA’d this on PlayStation back in the day and I am still haunted by it. Cursed game.

I feel sorry for you man. Playing this on the PlayStation was not a fun experiance. It’s just too slow.

I hope you were allowed to use a mouse through most of the testing phase.

If only we were so lucky haha.

Time for some TATE MODE!!!

Let’s head back to the 80’s when everything was colourful and cool! Just a shame this game isn’t.

Finally, a new Life in Japan video.

The French made a game then the Japanese updated it but for the unlikely system.
