Can you elaborate on your reaction to firing up your Saturn and House of Dead port for the first time?
I was so excited just to be able to play it at home I didn’t so much mind the graphics but I sure as hell could tell it looked WAY different than the arcade. But I love HotD so much I played the ever loving crap out of it
It’s 30fps and still inferior graphically to the arcade version (which is 60). The textures are lower rez and the geometry is more angular too.
It’s an inferior experience, but there’s still fun to be had. I originally played it with a mouse on Windows 95 which, for obvious reasons, was too easy, but it was still actually pretty close to the arcade version.
I’ve been looking for a pcb for awhile now but I’ve been coming up empty. Hopefully soon I’ll find one
30fps 3D on the Saturn? Whatever it takes. I’ll have to try this one out.
Yeah I mean it’s as fun as the arcade version. Just way uglier
It’s certainly up there. They made so many great ones that it’s hard to choose though.
Only thing that bothers me is that most of the sprites are just ripped straight out of the older entries in the series, or other Capcom games like Darkstalkers. probably wouldn’t be a problem in 240p as I believe it was in arcades, but on the DC the disparity between the crisp 3D backgrounds and the sprites is kind of jarring.
Yes it’s a huge roster of awesome games to pick from
Yeah that’s how they got to such a big roster. Basically almost all fighters are using recycled art and animations to get that big roster quickly
Not only a mummy, an alien mummy from space. Man this game took some money from me when I was young. Much fun was had!
so many weird and awesome characters
legit all good and hilarious characters
