Prop Cycle. Namco beat Peloton to the virtual exercise market by over two decades…they should sue! lolol
So cool! Never seen this before.
Not many people have it seems. Unless you saw it back in the 90s it kind of faded into obscurity
It’s a cool one. Do you know of other games that use the same graphics card? I seem to recall one from a local barcade that was completely Japanese that had some very weird control scheme. Something about balance or hammering something in the cabinet…
I can’t really recall. But this game randomly reminded me of it. I’m not sure if it used the same graphics, but it seems hazily close enough in my memory. (I know that’s not much to go on). It was a Namco game.
Edit: Actually I figured it out. It’s Panic Park. Ever play that one?
Second Edit: Here is is:
I freaking loved my very limited time with this game. Didn’t realize how rare it was. I hope I get the chance to play it one more time.
Sadly I’ve never seen a Panic Park cabinet and I can’t get it running via emulation.
System 22 and Super System 22 were all tech Namco worked on with Evans and Sutherland on the graphics side. So it’s a solid list of games
FYI - If you’re ever in NYC, it’s at the Barcade in Chelsea. Definitely worth checking out. It’s incredible.
If I’m ever there I’ll keep it in mind!
That would be a perfect fit for the Playdate crank.
There’s a Wii version of this. I’ve never played it but I want to.
It’s good but it’s very different from the NAOMI version and def not as good. Still worth checking out though!
I hated the Wii version although I don’t remember it that well now. It just lacked the intensity of the arcade game and was full of filler.
Man, Carrier Airwing. I played that a ton in the arcades. I kept expecting a home port to get announced but that didn’t happen back then.
Yeah it was weird / a bummer Carrier Air Wing never got a port because Capcom was way better at porting their arcade games than a company like Sega
