Rask,does this look to be the same as yours? There’s one for sale locally for $20. I know its not a 310 and looks like a 300 but cant be sure and owner doesnt have manual. Still worth a shot i guess for the price.
Hard to tell exactly what it is, but it’s not an FV300 or FV310, as they both have s-video in on the front jacks.
That one’s likely an FS series. Ask them for a photo of the inputs/labels one the back.
Doing a little more research it looks like 29fv300. However some pictures of this model look like your standard Wega without the inner bezel. Its worth grabbing for $20 regardless. My Panasonic Tau is getting rough.
You’re in Latin America? AFIAK the 29FV300 would have the same amount of s-video inputs, according to the service manual. Maybe there’s 3 on the back and none in the front? Seems off…
No I’m in the USA. I havent been able to find a 29inch Trinitron that looks like that. I’m thinking its probably a 27 or 32 inch FS210 and he’s just telling me the wrong size. The 210 has that inner bezel like the 310 but its light instead of dark.
Yeah most likely. Keep me updated when you go look at it, I’m interested to see what it is!
I’ve got a 32" Sony i’m trying to get rid of, in the dc area. Comes with a stand. Let me know if anyone is interested. (sorry to crap on this thread)
It was an FS210,a 36inch! Soooo big and heavy. I bought it though just to save it from the dump,I left it in the back of my truck overnight. Couldnt find anyone to help move it inside due to the holiday. I’m not even sure if I want to bring it in,I dont have a stand for it and I’ll never be able to move it wherever I put it.
Haha man… Gaming on a 36" has gotta be sweet though. That would make me want to play some early 3D 1st person action adventure games for maximum immersion.
Yeah that’s why I picked it up,playing a big screen like that seems awesome. However after hooking it up outside the picture is not very good. I’m sure if I replaced some caps and did some fly back adjustments it would improve but given the size and weight I don’t think it’s worth the trouble.
It did inspire me to crack open my Panasonic 27” Tau and do some adjustments,it’s looking really nice now. I only use this for my Japanese s-video and composite consoles so doing a full cap replacement seems unnecessary for now. Still have some degaussing issues that my wand hasn’t been able to fix but again not a huge deal for what it’s used for.

A 310! Nice, what size?
Fucking 36, and was up a flight of narrow, winding stairs in a old house. I couldn’t pass on it since it is literally the first one I’ve ever seen listed in my area. Got the stand with it too but looks a little damaged but will see today.
Congrats!
Fantastic, nice get. Keep us updated. I have finally dialed the geometry on my 32 in. I want to play a bit with the color but it doesn’t look off to me so I probably shouldn’t mess with it. I need to post pics…
Well then…
It’s alive;
And now time to get to werk;
Got some work to do on it but want to get a remote before starting since would be easier with one. Amusingly enough the person I got it from had the original manual and documentation but the remote they gave me was for a Sony DVD player that “sorta” works on it.
Worried about some discoloration on the top left that isn’t really showing in those pictures but will see what I can see after getting some adjustments done.
Looks really similar to how mine was when I got it. Top corners pinched in, bowing in the bottom middle.
That would not bother me that much. Of course, try to fix it if you can. But a few geometry problems can and should be forgiven for such a gorgeous CRT.
What a Beaut! I wouldn’t worry about those geometry issues at all, they are fairly minor and like Radar said, they are pretty much what I saw on my FS320. Easy to fix in the service menu, or at least to make much better!
The geometry I’m not too worried about, I’m not expecting PVM/BVM level quality with that. The discoloration I am worried about, but not stressing it till I mess with it a bit.
Something I’ve wondered about when doing adjustments with the 240p test suite. Are the red squares on the grid pattern suppose to be outside the normal field of view/overscan? I’ve always adjusted it so they are fully visible and will keep doing it that way so it’s more of just a curiosity thing.
