@Danexmurder I’m pretty sure my Sega CDX needs to be recapped. I bought a new power supply for it from Retrogamecave.com and that did not fix the resetting problem it’s been having.

Thoughts? Is this something you’d be capable of doing? I think I’m actually within driving distance of you for a masked up handoff sometime. I’m not in a hurry, and from what I’ve read this is a serious undertaking so lmk. Sure would be nice to get it working 100% again, though.

Hey, I’d be happy to take a look! I read about it a bit and those reset issues seem to be caused by caps going bad on the power board sometimes. I’d be happy to work on it for you. I have an NES I have to work on for a friend right now but I don’t expect that it will take all that long. I could start in on this for you after. This is a relatively large re-cap. How does $45 + parts sound?

Absolutely sounds reasonable. We can discuss timing via PM when you’ve got the NES done. As I said, not in a huge hurry.

I concur that the power board caps are likely to blame. I did a little research on it myself as the power supply also could have failing caps which is why I sprung for a new one.

Send me a PM when you’re ready and we’ll figure out how to get it to you.

No problem. I could potentially have that NES done as early as tonight. I’ll keep you posted!

Ha! Sounds good! Good luck!

Do you happen to do repair? I have a dreamcast VGA cable which needs the wires soldered to a new Dreamcast connector, though don’t know if its possible without a pinout.

Hey, thanks for reaching out. I can definitely do that sort of thing if I have a pin out but I don’t know how economical it would be for you to have me do it. I couldn’t really do it for less than $65 to have it be worth the time for me to do it. If you can give me some more details I may be better able to determine how long it would take me to do. Id also have to have you ship me everything I’d need to test its functionality since I don’t have my own Dreamcast.

It may be easier for you to just buy a new o r but I’m happy to look into it with you more.

Definitely understand that- I’m away this week but will see if I can go through my stuff and find the pinout once I am back home as a starting point and shoot you a PM if I get ahold of it.

Sounds good, keep me posted!

Would you be willing to try your hand at the “old fashioned” NES RGB mod with a PlayChoice-10 (Ricoh) PPU?
I have a top loader I’d like to mod.

Sounds like fun! Shoot me a PM and we’ll hammer out the details.

Hello just found this place and saw that you do some hardware modding. I’m trying to find someone to do a rgb mod on a PC-E Duo RX plus a Scart cable to go with it. Please email me at GamersReckoning@gmail.com if interested. Thanks so much!

Continuing the discussion from FS: Modding Services.:

I’d like to buy 1 of these boards with the resistors installed. I live in Canada but do have a USA address you could ship to. Let me know. Thanks!

Belated feedback by a very happy customer. @Danexmurder did an awesome job recapping my PC Engine Duo R and Game Gear as well as setting up my PS1 Xstation, adding RGB out to the PC Engine, and generally reviving the Game Game. The whole process was easy and enjoyable and I’m currently eying my consoles thinking about what I should get done next.

The only negative was he tested the PC Engine using his copy of Rondo of Blood but then when he returned the consoles he kept the game. :frowning:
