I already moved all my PS4 installed games to the 2TB external I got in the last year. I’m going to run all my PS4 stuff from there and save the PS5 space only for PS5 games. There’s a switch in the system options to make that happen automagically. You can also apparently just plug it in and you’re good to go.
There are a lot of great free games in that PS Plus Collection.
Not getting the PS5 anytime soon but just out of curiosity, how long would those be available to snag? Just a one-month window like usual? Been a while since I subbed to PS+. Would I be able to sub and claim the games through their website? Even if I didn’t have the new hardware, I could still get value from accessing the games I DL’d when I did sub. Lots of PS3 and PS4 games on my account that I never played. I was religious about downloading them for years on PS3 and got most of the early ones on PS4.
I don’t think they’ve talked yet about comings and goings to the list of games or if that will even be a thing. What they are saying for sure is you must have a PS Plus membership AND a PS5 console to claim the games included in the collection.
Without the console, you can’t claim those games specifically. Apparently you can claim Bugsnax if you have a sub to PS Plus though as that’s simply a PS5 monthly PS Plus game like any other.
People think they’ll have the collection for at least a year. There is no guarantee on that, though. The good thing is they seem to work like PS Plus games in the normal add to your library and keep it forever way. This is better than Game Pass where games do leave the service after a time (except for first party Microsoft games so far).
I can honestly say this is the first console I’ve ever owned where I put the disc in upside down a few times before I realized my failure to comprehend it.
I’d had problems with my disc and the Modern Warfare install on my PS4 so I was sure it was the disc! I cleaned it three times in between and it was frickin’ pristine!
Finally I thought about PS5 in horizontal mode and was like… hmmm… that would mean I’m putting it in upside down?! Sure enough…
Lots of lol!
I’m really impressed so far. Astro’s Playroom is a game that quickly reminds you Sony has a lot of history now too and while it still has some of that corporate feel their stuff always does, it’s probably the closest thing to a Nintendo game they’ve ever had at a system launch. I say that with a lot of love for what they created. It’s a superb system introduction to PS5.
Played A LOT on my system today. Performed flawlessly. I’ve been really sleeping on PS Now. There’s a ton of games on there. Been downloading and trying out new games like a mad man. Also now I’m hooked on Dead or Alive 6 because now the load times aren’t atrocious.
The switch is behind the right side and the left side is too easy for our 18 month old to get access to plus my OSSC is on that side too. I’ll get used to it, it’s just new so I notice it’s bigness more.
I was worried about the exhaust fan blowing hot air over the other consoles, so I’ve set it up on the right side so it hits the side of the cabinet instead.
One game I’m itching to try on the PS5 is WRC 9, from what I’ve read it seems Kylotonn have utilised DualSense controller really well, providing road surface feedback beyond the Xbox One’s impulse triggers.
It’s a shame Dirt 5 got all the hype as far as launch racing games go.
