After watching the MLiG PS2 video I was feeling nostalgic for PS2-era GTA, so naturally I picked up an Xbox. First MS system I’ve owned. I started Halo 2’s campaign, and I’m really enjoying it so far.
Also, now I have a Dreamcast with a working GD-ROM drive again or a spare if one of these days I actually manage to fix my original DC.
The thing is, with a giant never ending thread on desktop, we have the slider mechanism on the right that allows you to scroll exactly to the date you want. Plus, by default, the thread opens up to the last post you haven’t read.
So you don’t really need a “seasonal” thread if you’re concerned about it getting too long.
On mobile, however, it’s another story because we don’t have the slider. It’s up to you what you think is best.
Yeah, on mobile you’ll just see the numbers and the slider but not the date, however if you stay logged in on all devices, you’ll always be remembered and you shouldn’t miss any posts. You’ll just start up where you left off. It’s really rather slick.
Oh yeah well it’s a beautiful summer day here in Canada too eh!
No it’s actually not. I’ve updated the thread title and we will keep it all in one thread. If people want it split down the line we can certainly do that.
It definitely takes a little getting used to, especially coming from GAF where you had page upon page of posting. I dig it though. I’ve been looking in at ResetEra occasionally and that forum software feels archaic compared to Discourse. It’s fine, but I really like the infinite scroll.
Rise of the Dragon is great! I played the PC version a lot growing up, but prefer the Sega CD version now because the voice acting is actually really stellar (Cam Clarke plays the protagonist!).
Beautiful.
I was also meant to get the Japanese version, but then… You know when those impossible ‘local’ finds happen - specifically, a very cheap but pretty much like new American copy of the game - and you can’t just pass on them.
Haha yeah it seems there is very little difference, just the history section being in Japanese really.
I’ve had the US version since launch day, it’s the best of the retro franchise revival games of the last decade IMO. It is a genuine Contra 4, the first game since Contra Spirits/Contra III to look, sound, feel, and play like the original magic Contra formula.
