RGB Pick Up Thread Of Swag!

Sorry, no. Been wanting one for myself for years actually. Just refused to pay ebay prices for it. Really annoyed at how a common game sells for $50+ nowadays.

someone traded in a bunch of MVS titles to my local Mega Replay. Got a good deal on Bust A Move and it even came with the original mini marquee.

Went back later with some trades and picked these up too. Hard to resist MVS carts in the wild.

Oh, still an amazing find though, congrats!

Nothing beats the thrill of grabbing a good Neo Geo game.

I do have something to post that’s retro, but it’s worth noting I got Microsoft’s Game Pass Ultimate yesterday for $2 for 2 months and played Blazing Chrome, which is awesome and worth any retro gamer’s time.

Blazing Chrome is a great game. Anyone who likes Contra style games should give it a try. I love the portability of the Switch version but the PC, X1 and PS4 versions are better.

Why are they better?

I’ll let the expert tell you. Differences explanation starts around 10:00

The developer has said they are working on the Switch port, and changing how somethings are handled to get it to parity with the other versions. I don’t know if that update has gone live yet though. Maybe check the dev’s twitter or something.

Just watched the video. It warms my heart that such a game is being made at all. I love how DF Retro & @Dark1x was given such access/insight into the development process too. It makes the release that much more special.

Can’t wait to grab this one. I’ll probably opt for the PS4 release then double dip on Switch when it is on sale or before a big trip.

If it’s anything like other 240p titles like Sonic Mania, it probably looks fantastic when scaled 3x evenly on the switch’s 720p screen.

Well, as I noted, if you have an Xbox (or a PC), you can play it there for $2 right now for the next two months. I may buy the game eventually, but it’s included in Game Pass.

Two amazing items arrived this weekend. First, a complete boxed Super Mario Bros Game and Watch unit in pristine condition (aside from box being a bit scuffed) with a nice crisp screen and mint manual. Managed to get it for only $145. Normally a boxed and complete SMB G&W in good condition can easily run approx $500 so very happy with the deal I got. I used to own SMB G&W as a kid but sold it. It’s probably one of the most advanced LCD games ever made in that era featuring simulated platforming and even a Lost Levels style bogus warp zone in world 7 which will send you back to the beginning of W7 if you don’t choose the correct pipe (Pictured below)!

Second, Battle Garegga LE set from Limited Run Games.

Love SMB G&W. And mint boxed, outstanding.

Great stuff.

Old Gunpai was onto a good thing with those LCDs.
Interesting how similar the dpad looks to the one on the Switch.

Been lurking for a while but thought I’d finally get round to posting something so I’ll chuck this up in here. I know this board seems to be more home games based but I haven’t actually acquired any new home stuff for quite a while! Hoping to pick up some MSX or PC98 stuff on a Japan trip soon tho. But anyway, I’d been after one of these for a long time. It’s pretty hard to get stuff like this in the UK, this one was recently imported from the States, which seems to be the way things are going now.

I put it next to the first cab me and my bro bought way back in the 90s.

What a beauty. And welcome to the site!

Fantastic! Did it require any work when you received it?

Thanks for the welcome chaps, and yeah, it was sold as not working on the monitor side. Bro had it up and running within an hour of us getting it back home though, had a faulty diode on the monitor chassis board. Installed the multigame/hiscore save kit that the previous owner had bought but never installed too so it does Asteroids Deluxe and Lunar Lander as well. Original Asteroids seems like the best game still tho! Never really played it much when I was a kid as it was a pretty old and rare game by the time I was frequenting the arcades. Getting my time in on it now tho.

Amazing job on the arcade cabs, and for deciding not to be a lurker anymore. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Are those both vector graphic screens? Totally different beasts indeed.

Welcome to the site!

Yeah they’re both vectors and the difference between the colour and Black and White one is amazing, the B&W being incredibly sharp where the colour one is a fair bit softer due to the colour tube subpixels being further apart.

Can’t get over how the B&W one looks, when you fire your bright little shots whizz across the screen with a little light halo around them.
