Sorry to hear that @Shinriji. I saw a used one on Amazon a few days ago for less than 50$ Canadian. Keep your eyes open and it will be yours one day!
I just went through it quickly and it really is a love letter to all things SNK.
This deserves a special moment… I’m thinking to take it all in tomorrow morning, sitting outside with a nice warm cup of coffee. :)
Looks like someone is jumping into the world of pvms.
Nice shots.
I very much hope you’ll post some pics of those 90s fighters on that beast.
Cross post from Era.
Does my brother finding a bunch of my old stuff in my parent’s garage last weekend count?
Those are empty GCN game cases I got from someone during that gen because they were just going to throw them out and I couldn’t let that happen.
The books on the side are some of my Game Genie books. The red cart is Rockman 2 with the adapter. Most of these games (except for the ones I have boxes for plus a couple of others) were
from a rental store that was tossing them in the trash to make room during the SNES gen so I got them. I already had most of my games, I just lost track of this box.
Not pictured is my childhood NES + NES Advantage, 3 N64 controllers with tight sticks (that’s how they stay if you never play Mario Party or Smash), an Atari 2600 + games, and a Colecovision (the games were in my closet already). My brother took the pre-NES stuff with him.
It’s a beautiful homage to the greatest game system and IMO greatest game company of them all. I bought one at release.
I’m really impressed by this book, I’ll have to check out what other books that publisher released.
As for SNK, few gaming companies have such a legacy. Their genius is in consistency, it’s hard to think of a single truly terrible SNK game released on their hardware, be it the AES/MVS or even the NGPC.
That being said, my heart belongs to SEGA. From the early days in the arcade all the way up to the Dreamcast, they gave me more entertainment than any other gaming company.
SNK, SEGA… Gaming titans!
Where’d you pick up clannad from?
CD Japan - was the best price at the time (few days before launch).
Are you thinking about picking it up? It’s a great port, really good use of the touch-screen. You can do rewind/skip ‘scrubbing’ by tapping and dragging on the text box, browsing the log is a pleasure, you can even tap the screen with two fingers to immediately cycle English and Japanese text. Prototype have done good work with Switch.
I might, I really loved the anime.
Cross post with the discord I guess but:
Thanks to yesterday’s visit to half price books, I now have 25 turbochip games, 21 of which were found in person.
I’m really happy that I keep my turbochip collecting in person only. It’s a fun little challenge and always a real treat when I find new games.
Me too, especially After Story. It’s worth getting for the other character routes. The anime stumbles in covering the other characters because in the source material they were mutually exclusive routes, but the anime tries to make them fit in with the Nagisa route instead.
To skip to the new gaming set up head to 14:13 in the video.

Just got in the mail today.
When can we expect your first game?
Already posted this in the Shmup thread but got the LE for Psikyo Shooting Library Vol 1 recently.
This week I got the Tanooki Mario figure by Medicom. The Medicom figures are beautiful and recreate the promotional art from the manuals (the Medicom Mario Bros figures look just like the marquee art for example). I plan on getting the Zelda 1 ‘80s Link figure next.
Been hitting the yard/estate sales pretty hard for the past couple months. It’s pretty slim pickings, I find some games maybe one out of every ten sales. Usually garbage, lots of sports/dumb wii titles. I would say one out of every 20 (or more) I might find something worth buying. These were in a box full listed at $10 each. I grabbed the best out of there and asked if they would take $20 for these four. They said yes. Pretty happy with a good condition Mega Man for $5!
The CRT was also $5, but that was a different yard sale. Pics don’t look good, but it looks great in person. Also: my wife is nearing her tolerance level for my CRT collection.
Wow, incredible find with Mega Man 5!
It’s the first game actually (had to double check my post!).
Good get on Mega Man. Cart looks excellent! I’m actually looking to upgrade my copy of MM1 if you’re interested in selling!
