Looks amazing!
I traded my Sony PVM 20L2 for a smaller (but more versatile) JVC 1710cg and never looked back. JVC tubes are incredible.

Yeah I’m super happy! I was able to get it in person! Also i expected to spend $500+ on a professional CRT but this was $140. IDK what the market price is, but I feel like it was worth it. Now i just need some RGB cables .
For a 750TVL tube? that’s an absolute steal
750 TVL? Holy crap!
Would you guys recommend doing a cap replacement on that TV? It doesn’t have any issues, but I’ve heard that it’s a good thing to do.
Ye olde free shipping from Suruga-ya got me again yesterday. I’ll have something to post soon!
This arrived for me today, the December 2024 issue of Trendy magazine which has a feature article on Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and comes with a beautiful DQ III themed 2025 calendar:
Here’s the haul from last week’s free shipping event. They have free shipping again this week too. I blame @Yakumo for Libble Rabble. I love that Rockman 7 is 1269 Yen ($8.40 US) but if you want the US release that’s a minimum of $240 US because Capcpom was like “Yeah, no one really wants this Mega Man stuff…”
Total was a bit under $200. Gundam Wing and R-Type III were the primary reasons for the purchase and then I filled in an order around that with things I wanted to play. Kirby is a game I’ve always loved that I rented way back when and isn’t in my collection. I also didn’t own any Super Famicom in the original packaging and wanted one game that way to show people who visit and see my collection to kind of say, “Yeah, Japan stuff is way cooler.
I really need to take a break from game purchasing now while I get my new game room set up. You’re looking at the new desk which is a Flexispot E7 sit/stand. I got the least expensive top but covered it with a Razer XXXL mouse surface. Basically the entire desk is a mouse pad. I love it. So comfortable.
Oh! The Panlong switch! I have made the old school non-videophile choice to have the majority of my pre-HD consoles be connected via COMPOSITE to the Sony Trinitron! Don’t hate! It just feels like the right thing to do with original hardware.
I have Analogue hardware too, and a RetroTINK, so I can be fancier (HD retrovision cables for Genesis and Neo Geo… etc.) but sometimes I want to have stuff be like I remember it.
Nice selection👍
Side Arms on the PC Engine is rock solid. I can’t complete that one.
New PCB day is best day.
After a year of not picking up anything related, I rewarded myself for making better financial decisions lol.
PCB is inside its original case, very minor battery leakage damage which has been fixed. Honestly most DOJ I see these days are in terrible condition; this is excellent otherwise.
Holy crap
What game?
It’s DoDonPachi DaiOuJou! This is the original normal version otherwise known as “White Label”, not the extremely rare Black Label version that had only like 80 PCBs made.
Also significantly more difficult!
Indeed! It could be argued that BL is the version that should have initially released given many of WL questionable design choices, maybe even flaws.
It’s weird that for a long while players flocked to BL, and only recently people are appreciating WL more.
Good thing a quick ROM version swap is possible in this PCB. Don’t ever see myself getting a genuine BL PCB since that depends on the dreaded leaky battery to remain functional, as opposed to the other Cave games on the hardware.
the immaculate cabs, the posters, the details like the taito ashtray full of coins…this is such a supreme setup, man. hats off!
Got Toaplan Arcade volumes 3 and 4 for Evercade and now have all of the currently released Toaplan Evercade carts. Btw, “shout out” to CastleMania games for canceling my order for Toaplan Arcade volume 3 back in November with zero explanation and zero response to my repeated support e-mails asking for an answer. Fortunately I was able to eventually get it through Amazon along with volume 4.
Retro Gamer issue number 260 farther below with the Nintendo innovation cover has a really nice feature article on M2 ShotTriggers.
