Fighters Megamix, RGB on Sony CRT. It has a little clipping ![]()
Played some Sengoku Blade tonight. Man that game just shines on an arcade monitor, lovely sprite work and 2D art. Maybe a bit NSFW LOL.
Was playing that the other day, the last level had me stumped for an hour and I had to give up lol. Gorgeous game
I finished Mario 64 for the first time today - what an incredible game. Took a few shots while I was grabbing the last few coin stars.
Sony PVM 20L2, N64 via RGB.
Saturn Last Bronx on Sony CRT in RGB. Playing this makes me wish they’d done a revision of VF2 with all that was learnt by the later days of Saturn. It’s still impressive as it is but they got so much better with the 3d illusion backgrounds by the end!

These are great!
@androgyne Nice shots, I’ve always loved the weapon trails in this
I’ve never played it. Wondering if I should!
Ridge Racer Type 4
Beetle-psx-hw
2x internal res. Downsampled to 240p.
Finally spent some time getting my B&O MX7000 adjusted properly, and set up a pc with 2560x240/224 super resolutions so I have enough pixels to let a shader compensate for the barrel distortion the TV’s short tube inherently causes. Now that it’s all up and running, I’m very happy with the results. Will post some more pics next week when my new phone arrives, which will have a much better camera.
Definitely, it absolutely holds up.
The controls are to this day, sublime. The acrobatics you can do with Mario still make this a joy to play, the only part that shows its age is the camera which you will find to be rather uncooperative at times, but by no means a dealbreaker.
What I loved was I ended up getting stars out of sequence constantly, because I’d just explore. There were times that only afterward I realised I was meant to use a cannon to launch myself to a certain platform, instead of a series of intricate wall jumps and dives.
I enjoyed the mechanics that much I think I’ll move on to some romhacks like Mario 64 Sapphire while the controls are still fresh in my mind.
Some vertical scanlines. I suck at this game but gave it a good go lol
Dodonpachi, Samsung 4K LCD, Saturn via RGB and OSSC:
Fighting Cup/Fighter’s Destiny on N64, Sony CRT thru S-Video.

Tobal 2 on PS1, Sony CRT thru RGB.

The scaling on these Saturn ports just seems off to me. I have DonPachi on Saturn and it looks like it can’t hit the native aspect ratio.
That’s interesting. I never played the arcade version. How’s the PS1 port in comparison?
You have to pause whilst in game and adjust the display setting, try full scale at 100%, other modes will crop the original 240 active lines image into 224 lines or even less.
The better of the two Donpachi ports, faster loading, better audio and less slowdown which is more in line with the PCB.
Love this character select screen. Love this era of CG too! (Pilotwings 64 is similarly wonderful)
