Consumer Trinitron 21" - non1CHIP SNES
Is that via s-video? looks so smooth and vibrant. DKC especially benefits from the 2 chip SNES’s natural blur. It looks a bit noisy over RGB even on a CRT.
I’m using RGB currently, I have an S-Video cable on the way to experiment with but from what I understand it’s meant to be as sharp as RGB
EDIT: Got a bad S-Video cable : /
Gundam Battle Assault, this time on the legendary JVC D-Series AV-27D500 with the Panasonic tube [ME] with a 700 TVL. The picture is sharp! You have to see it in person.

Tried my hand at downscaling Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonderland. Lovely game and package (came with an art book and CD soundtrack). Very obviously inspired by Symphony of the Night. Not quite sure the pixel art is on that level but I don’t think it tries to be. Not sure if I’ll continue playing this way (text is super hard to read).
Looks great! What method of downscaling are you using?
GBS Control. Had to adjust the scaling as it automatically squishes the picture to 4:3, but I think I got the aspect ratio pretty close without too much overscan.
Nice! I never did get my GBSC-AIO downscaling the way I wanted. I meant to build out some sync combiners but never got around to it.
I thought the AIO came prebuilt? For mine all I need to do is click the 15 khz downscale button on the web interface and GBSC handles the rest.
Legendary SNES / SFC game - Hagane ~The Final Conflict~. One of the holy grail games on the system.
Made by CAProductions and RED Entertainment.
Setup:
1.Samsung Tantus Flat CS15k8mjq CRT TV with native Scart.
2.Nintendo Super Famicom Jr RGB modded (inner factory amp) and official Nintendo RGB cable
3.Photos by Samsung HMX-R10 camcorder.
Damn, these look incredible
Thanks!
same here, just build myself and in the end just zilch - no sync.
Game is beautiful but I couldn’t get into it for some reason. Does it open up the more you play?
Also those are awesome shots
What output are you using? I looked at the control but doesn’t it only have HDMI or VGA out? What are you using to get it hooked into a CRT?
It outputs component as well, but through the VGA port (there’s a setting to output component instead of RGBHV)
then it’s as simple as using a VGA to component cable, straight into the TV like this
haven’t played too much of it yet. I really like some of the mechanics so far though. hope it opens up later
one game that looks absolutely at home on a CRT is Astalon: Tears of the Earth. looks like a long lost NES game.
Yeah that looks amazing on a CRT
