Gorgeous! Native RGB on consumer sets just hits different. I still miss my Sony KVAR 25M31 (although that one was modded)
messing around with MiSTer direct video. scandoubler on, so 640x480 to my VGA monitor. compatibility is kind of spotty, but really liking this over stock HDMI out
trying out the new Symphony of the Night hack for the Saturn which combines the improvement patch with the PSP English translation (with voice acting), and I’m really liking it so far. a nice alternate experience, given I’ve finished the original PS1 game recently. I might just do a play through with Maria or something
Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight Ultimate: MiSTer Sega Saturn core:
Interesting to see the pause menu is 240p like PlayStation in this version, iirc Saturn had 480i with high res fonts? Looking good otherwise!
yeah I was worried about that as my monitor would lose sync
pretty sure it is 480i in the original version (and takes an age to come up). it’s pretty snappy now. a subtle change that goes a long way
Hello everyone. Here’s a recap of some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken throughout the years.
Sony - PVM-20L5 Multiformat Color Video Monitor
JVC - TM-H1950C Color Video Monitor
Taken with an iPhone.
But still, Saturn port has more animation than PS1 ports (butchered trash)
Kaitei Daisensou aka In The Hunt - Saturn port by Sims (1995). One of my favs on Saturn. Also arranged soundtrack rocks.
Setup:
1.Saturn HST-3200 NTSC J with Scart RGB cable.
2.Thomson Black Pearl 21DG13KG SD CRT TV with native Scart.
3.Photos by Xiaomi Note 5 Pro phone.
PS1 didn’t get a Darkstalkers Revenge port. It got the first game and the animations cuts aren’t too bad, nothing like the really terrible X-men Vs Street Fighter conversion. Savior EX has some interesting modes not on the Saturn too.
I have a four month old at home so it’s hard to find the time to dig out the crt but I managed to carve out a few minutes to appreciate the work I put into the JVC.
Analogue NT Mini Noir V2 via RGB on a JVC DTV 1710cg
Wow, looks incredible given the small number of pixels used in these portraits. More please!
Started Shiren 2 on N64 and the sprites are surprisingly detailed to the extent that you’ll rarely see them in full detail until the camera zooms in.
Check them out:
Looks great! What are you playing it on?
MiSTer SNES core, on a 17" VGA monitor. the MiSTer has a nice feature that blanks out every other line at 480p. coupled with the monitor’s shadow mask and it looks awesome
