SCANLINE SCREENSHOT THREAD. BECAUSE 240p IS ALL THE P'S I NEED. (56k warning)

What board revision is yours? I wonder when the update to the boards happened… As far as I know, they haven’t changed in some time.

I can’t remember what it was when I bought it. But I had to flash it up to 1.4 not long after due to the switch not working properly on the original version. There was no one else in NZ at the time so I still have the flashing equipment Tim sent me.

It’s basically the Wii U VC release.

I recommend the Wavebeam/FBX Smooth/Playchoice10 firmware option that’s available. I flashed my board with that and am really happy. If you’d like to read more about Firebrand’s palette you can check it out here:

Looks great, what display are you using?

It’s Samsung CRT tv with Scart Input.

And i don’t remember which model it is.

Some shots from my newly acquired KV-27FV300. RGB Genesis, converted to component with a shinybow.

Testing the OSSC and I think I went a little overboard…

I still like how this turned out in person though.

Wow - that looks amazing! Do you mind posting your OSSC settings? I love the Secret of Mana pic. Both look great actually.

I’ve been messing around with the Vertical + Horizontal scanlines but haven’t had any luck making it look good on my Projector.

Last night I’ve made a hundred shots to try to capture movements in some games, but the result was unfortunately not that good.
So desperetely I shot my brand new marinière, a french striped jersey.
I think it’s a PVM (premium vintage model) :

From a couple days ago. I had to fight some suboptimal conditions in regards to glare and lighting, but Popeye is a great looking game. It never really gets much love compared to its old Nintendo arcade counterparts.

Same.

Nightmare in the Dark (Arcade). The music in this game is phenomenal.

Voltz posted settings here but not sure if they’re the same ones he used in his Secret of Mana pics.

naz on shmups has some settings here but they’re not as detailed as Voltz’s but might be worth a play.

I’ve had to deal with working a lot and the stress is really something. This has been getting in the way of me being able to do any testing, plus I didn’t save any of the profiles when I went from beta to official release.

Vespa has the right track on his post so check those links out. The thing that makes my posts look good is you have to figure the right balance between how you have hybrid settings with vertical lines and blend the normal scanlines in. You always want the center line to be your visible one, so depending on the multiples x3 is 1-3, x4 is 1-4 and x5 is 1-5 but 2-4 have much more leeway for helping the balance. Also keep in mind the horizontal lines on 0%,6% have a weird way of interacting on either column line you have depending on the strength they’re set on. 6% will give the horizontal full brightness, 0% will cause the vertical lines to show. Hybrid on subtraction will allow you to set the bloom level like the way my SOM pic was shown and you have to be careful which way either line settings are or the bloom effect won’t cross over correctly as you intended. Darker lines will cut it off. I prefer to try hybrid about above 30 before I start making further adjustments. Also having this on an HDTV with separate hoz/vert sharpening will help greatly in this as you want to retain as much of a crt characteristic as possible.

If I get time I’ll try to do some more testing and see what I can post, hopefully this weekend if I’m lucky.

Btw, the Zelda screen was drawn with only line 3 on x5, that’s it. I know I’m cheap lol!

Comparison shot I took while streaming - no idea why that scene was so green! Playing on a CRT while streaming is great though.

Simpsons Arcade PS3

Just to let you know if you still have the game, it scales perfectly in 1080i mode. All other resolutions won’t be accurate.

1080i mode? You don’t see that too often. I wonder why it works best in that mode
