SCANLINE SCREENSHOT THREAD. BECAUSE 240p IS ALL THE P'S I NEED. (56k warning)

With enough practice, the bonus chaos emerald stages become very easy. I find that the most difficult part about them is finishing the preceding level with enough rings to unlock them.

Yeah I actually really enjoyed the added challenge of hanging onto my rings throughout each level.

I think it’s the rotation in the bonus stages that makes me feel slightly ill - along with the physics. That said I’d probably take these over the blue sphere stages from S3&K.

I actually think the sphere stages are slightly better. Sonic 2’s bonus stages were my least favorite of the Genesis trilogy + Knuckles.

This looks beautiful!

A few shots from my new Strikers 1945 III board. These are through a HAS Supergun on a PVM 20M2U.

Viewsonic 17’ CRT with the Steam version of Sonic Mania Plus over VGA. Modded to run in proper 4:3 and I’m using the Genesis mini USB pad, lol.

Looks good. Is that real 240p or is it that 480p + in-game scanlines? Either way, it looks real.

Could you post one of the 3D saturn-like bonus level? I’d love to see that in proper 240p.

Awesome! What are you playing it on?

Oh yeah sorry that’s on a New Astro City cabinet. Nanao MS9 Monitor. I don’t think it’s been recapped in a while, so I might do that while I have the time.

The Simpsons game definitely does have some great sprite work. The animations are a little lacking, but if you consider this game was super rushed out due to the first season of the Simpsons exploding like it did, it’s a great accomplishment.

The animators only had the first season to go by, and some stuff from the Tracy Ullman show, which was definitely a different type of show from what the Simpsons eventually became.

You can see stuff like Binky the bunny being a featured character, when I don’t he ever really had an appearance in the main show past the first season.

Smithers is a completely different character personality-wise - I honestly think they didn’t have enough character references to spread around as enemies.

Also, if you play as Marge and get shocked, the skeleton X-ray animation will show her rabbit ears, which was the original plan for her character.

A few shots of Dark Souls 2 on PS3. 480p downscaled to 240p via Extron Super Emotia.

Wanted to share some shots of Link’s Awakening in 240p. It completely holds up. The simple style of this game and vibrant colors make it really pop in this format.

Bit of a question, does anyone remember the original DOOM64 review from IGN? Back when the site was still N64.com, they had a few screen caps that were really sharp at native 240p, but as I was looking at it today for reference I clicked the pics and they were upscaled HORRIBLY. It seems strange cause back then PC resolutions were low around 480p or 800x600. The thunbnails are still the original, yet I actually have to sit up close to see the pics unfiltered.

Does windows or something resize with interger scaling?
