Saturday Night Slam Masters sounds like something a frat would call themselves. What a bad sounding title.

With names like Alexander the Grater, Biff Slamkovich, King Rasta Mon and Jumbo Flapjack, it’s instantly clear that this fraternity knows how to party.

Anyway, I’m excited to finally give that game a whirl

No luck for me this time, was hoping for Mars Matrix and the four Pang arcade titles.

Forgot to mention two more games that were announced at Limited Run Games’ showcase.

Prize Fighter: Remastered

Namco’s sprite scaling space shoot 'em up Thunder Ceptor seems to be coming to modern consoles soon!

Release date: June 30th (if I interpreted Hamster’s recent tweet about this game correctly)

Also, good to finally see another Arcade Archives release that features some nice sprite scaling. There are too few of those!

Here’s a list of games I’d love to see in the form of an Arcade Archives release someday:

Data East: Dragon Gun

Irem: Tropical Angel

Jaleco: Big Run, Cisco Heat, Grand Prix Star, Wild Pilot

Konami: Devastators, Hot Chase, Hyper Crash, Konami GT, Over Drive, WEC Le Mans

Namco: Burning Force, Final Lap, Final Lap 2, Final Lap 3, Final Lap R, Four Trax, Lucky & Wild, Metal Hawk, Pole Position, Pole Position II, Steel Gunner, Steel Gunner 2, Suzuka 8 Hours, Suzuka 8 Hours 2

Nichibutsu: Roller Jammer

Taito: Aqua Jack, Battle Shark, Buggy Challenge, Chase H.Q., Continental Circus, Double Axle, Night Striker, Racing Beat, Riding Fight, S.C.I. - Special Criminal Investigation, Space Gun, Super Chase: Criminal Termination, Top Speed

Also, if Sega won’t port their arcade games to modern consoles anymore, they should just let Hamster do it. I need Super Scaler games in my life!

This week’s Arcade Archives release is Nihon Bussan’s W̶o̶n̶d̶e̶r̶ ̶W̶o̶m̶a̶n̶ Soldier Girl Amazon (a.k.a. Sei Senshi Amatelass).

Release date: June 23rd

Here’s what’s in the collection:

RayForce
RayStorm
RayStorm NEO-HD
RayCrisis
RayCrisis HD

Platforms: PS4, Switch
Release date: 2023 (Japan)

Dream collection especially if we’re talking original arcade versions.

I really hope we are even though there are good ports of some of these games available.

Considering it’s called Ray’z Arcade Chronology, I think it’s safe to say that the collection features the actual arcade versions

Just announced during the Nintendo Direct Mini: Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection.

Release date: 2023

I know this is an old post but I wanted to point out that the title of Saturday Night Slam Masters in Japan is “Muscle Bomber: The Body Explosion”

So pick your poison.

Awesome game tho.

If this is as good as the SNK Collection, it will be mandatory. Mike Mika and the folks at Digital Eclipse did a phenomenal job with that one so I have high hopes for this.
