Upcoming retro re-releases - Delphine Software Collection 1, Duke Nukem Collection 1 & 2, Sunsoft Collection 1 (Evercade)

Was this in one of the Collections or is this the only release of this game now?

This one is also featured on the Darius Cozmic Collection (Arcade Edition and International Edition).

OK, that’s what I thought. Obviously without the Arcade Archives score chasing front end…

Taito is on a roll lately. Here’s hoping all of their Taito Egret stuff comes to other platforms eventually. There are cool looking games in there I’ve never even heard of before and it would be great to have more options for them.

To clarify, Darius 1 on the Cozmic collection contains the “Old,” “New” and “Extra” versions. The ACA port has all three versions as well.

Whoa I might have to grab this since for the cool widescreen effect. I don’t many AA games at all.

Tbh I love Taito games - they’re some of my favorites, but something about the first Darius just rubs me the wrong way. The enemies are so fast and your ship moves so slowly. And deaths are too punishing. It’s kind of like Gradius for me in that sense (but people love that game too).

Even with such a huge playfield, it feels way too difficult for its own good. It feels novel to play but kind of like a rough draft for what would come later in the series.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not Radiant Silvergun levels of hard where you need to memorize levels, but I struggle to equate this with the typical Taito brilliance from their back catalogue.

If you’re going to grab this, I highly recommend the Cosmic Collection though - the other games there are incredible. And I’ll take M2 emulation over Arcade Archives style of emulation any day of the week.

Pretty sure M2 works with the Arcade Archives guys too. I think a lot of these recent Namco/Taito releases are being refit from the collections there were already released on.

When I started this thread one year ago, my first post was about the announcement of a dozen or so upcoming Arcade Archives titles. Nearly all of those have been released by now, except Ganbare Ginkun and Tōkidenshō Angel Eyes (both Tecmo games).

Well, this week we’ll be very close to having all the games from that initial post on digital storefronts, as Tōkidenshō Angel Eyes will be joining the Arcade Archives lineup tomorrow!

Release date: October 20th

Retro-Bit will be releasing three Valis cartridges for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. The games Valis: The Fantasm Soldier, Syd of Valis and Valis III will be available both separately and as part of a collection.

Great news for Evercade owners (yay, that’s me!): today it has been officially confirmed that Amiga games will be arriving on the system, starting in 2023!
