Capcom high end Plug and play arcade setup rumored

With the onboard WiFi, it’s possible they’re selling a platform in which you would be able to download future retro games.

For $9.99 each! Weeee!

Figure the usb input is more likely for that.

But that does make me question. Seems everyone always brings up the “well they could sell more game packs later” when talking about these kind of things but have any of them actually done that? One of the Neogeo things did I think but not even sure since I wasn’t interested in it. Of course since I just hack any of the ones I get, and would do the same to this if I really wanted a big ass “Capcom” logo in my living room, it’s kind of pointless for me.

Don’t even know if it’s that is just a big logo or it’s side by side nature that makes this so unappealing though.

Now that is a product of class. The Capcom stick looks like shit IMO. May as well buy one of those Chinese sticks and throw in a Raspberry Pi running FBA. It will be cheaper, look much better and run exactly the same as the Capcom stick plus you can play more stuff on it.

WiFi connection to a closed Capcom system is the least resistant path for potential sales, if they decided to sell more on this thing. They’re already planning some sort of leaderboard service.

Any salesman will say they need to remove any and all barriers to a sale they possibly can. If a person can sit there with a friend on their ugly ass Capcom machine and just buy a game without getting up or fiddling with wires, that’s the route they’d want to go.

To be fair, they did say it was sanwa parts.

True but Sanwa parts are cheap here in Japan. I’ve got a box full of buttons.

Obviously more expensive here in Canada, but they’re still not what I would consider pricey. A local retailer in my city sells the buttons for a couple bucks each, and the sticks for $25.

I was more speaking to the quality.

In Ontario or on the west coast?

Edmonton, Alberta

I had the thought when this thing has run it’s course, Ebay is gonna be gouging the living @#$% out of it.

I saw this shit in the discord today while i was at work and thought it was a joke…

Yeah, I didn’t even think about it that way and it does make sense since there would already be some sort of server connection for the high scores. Good point.

So apparently they didn’t get permission to run the emulator? Reminds me of the shenanigans with the Retron 5.

Seen conflicting information on that and haven’t looked further in. Last I read was that some of the people that worked on it said they didn’t give permission while others did but it may not matter.

Noticed Koch Distribution have this up on Amazon UK for a 25th of October 2019 release at £199.99GBP.

This thing really does look ugly and for that price I’d rather buy another CPS2 B board or two.
