Games that feature both 2D and 3D levels

Speaking of licensed games, here’s the Gameboy version of RoboCop:

Man I loved the batmobile/Batboat levels in that game.
OH and Robocop on C64 too!

I was really impressed that the arcade Robocop has the green highlight and lines on the shooting sections.

Maybe I’m blind, but I don’t see any Turtles in Time post yet.

Great, great topic idea… tangentially related, 2D platformer games where you can “rotate” the playfield as part of the gameplay, thus acknowledging the existence of another dimension… Fez is the famous example that leaps to my mind first:

… but I don’t think Fez pioneered this, did it?

(note that I don’t mean platformers in 3D, but as the topic indicates, games that feature both 2D and 3D gameplay in the same game.)

Rambo III on Genesis/Mega Drive has no business being as good as it is. That’s a ton of fun.

Yeah, it’s a really fun and polished game. Far higher in quality than the majority of movie tie-in games.

Played Codemasters’ F-16 Renegade for the first time yesterday and I assumed it was just a basic vertically scrolling shoot 'em up, so I was pleasantly surprised when the second level turned out to be a bit Afterburner-esque.

In Eliminator Boat Duel, the perspective changes multiple times during gameplay.
