Nintendo Gamecube |OT| Nintendo's Original Console on the Go

Interesting. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that one, either.

Looks like the Admiral controller you mentioned is Hyperkin, not Retrobit. Hyperkin is kind of lower tier usually, right? I’m not an N64 player but the best looking modern take I’ve seen on that system is this one:

You’re right! It is Hyperkin!

I have one of those Wireless Brawler64 controllers as well and they’re pretty great!!

Hori pad also had a stiff dpad, back when I had one.

I got a GC to SNES adapter and never looked back as it was just better at the same thing.

It’s typical for HORI style dpads to be a bit stiff and mushy. I noticed they stopped doing this very recently, their Switch HORIPAD Mini has a more nintendo-like dpad:

I still want to buy a GC Digital Controller.

I bought a hori digital controller randomly a few years back. I was shocked to see it’s price recently.

It’s weird they never officially released it in the US. It would have sold well.

Yeah, gotta second this - I picked up the Raphnet GC to SNES adapter and I use an OEM SFC pad with the Game Boy Interface and it is perfect.

I also have this and it’s better than the hori digital controller. There’s no reason to drop 200 bucks for it. It’s more of a novelty thing.

While we’re also on the subject I recommend the Raphnet GC to N64 adapter. I’m finishing up a 120 star playthrough of Super Mario 64 using a wavebird and it has been fantastic.

Anyone has tried the RGB cable from Retro Gaming Cables UK ?
I ordered one but I won’t be able to compare with the official that I haven’t.

Which exact cable?

Nintendo GameCube RGB SCART cable (PAL) PACKAPUNCH PRO, CSYNC.
For my CRT TV.

Oh that one. I have one of their cables but not that one.

Thanks anyway.

Cable received, awesome, it’s perfect.

Yeah their stuff is great - they had a few teething issues early on with soldering and questionable PCB design but they’ve been solid for years at this point.

They have fantastic customer support too - I’ve had two cables fail after a year or two and in both instances they shipped me a replacement sight unseen from the UK to Australia for free.

Yep I can back this up. I’ve ordered lots of cables from them. I’ve only ever had one fail and they got me a replacement asap.

Moving over from the mention of this game in the N64 thread, I’m loving 1080 Avalanche right now. Time Trial Coin mode is my jam.
