Recommend: additional, different modes outside of the main game

Kirby’s Dream Course - multiplayer mode. It’s one of the best multiplayer games ever made, but you’d never know it if you just stuck to the single player modes.

I’m getting deja vu!

Will try it out soon.

Hehe… I emphatically encourage you to do so!

Different Games running in the same engine

Kirby’s Dreamland’s Extra mode turns the game into a perfect platformer, the main game soon becomes a deceptively simple affair while Extra mode demands complete mastery of its short-yet-impeccably designed levels.

Minified Versions of the main game

Challenge mode in Tokyo Bus Guide 2 on PS2 contains a bunch of devilish obstacle course-style runs and parking challenges, I’ve yet to score above a B rank on anything and my average is a C rank…

The Gymkhana mode in Cave’s Touge Max G offers a superb contrast to the high speed racing of the main King Battle, Story and Time Trial modes.

There you’ll spend most of your time in higher gears, but here you’re weaving in and out of cones, drifting donuts and the likes, requiring lower gear sliding antics. Each course is short, the target times are perfectly pitched, it’s a super satisfying series of driving challenges.

The handling in this game is really satisfying with wide turning circles that can quickly turn in to oversteer or understeer with enough manipulation, perfect match for this sort of thing.

So far I’ve cleared the Easy and Medium challenges. Hard may as well be called impossible, still haven’t cleared the first stage…

What about the mini games in Harmful Park PS1.
I always liked those Punchball, Sky Circuit and Tank battle.

I’m on it!

Need to try those!

I’m not sure what is considered the “main mode” of Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, but I think Pacifism mode is probably the best game on any Xbox platform!

Boku no Natsuyasumi 4 is rather true to its mid 80s setting with the appearance of Taito’s QIX as a playable game, 50 yen a go.
