I have not, my CDX cd drive seems to be fine so far. Not that it matters since it resets randomly lol. I have a model 1 Saturn that is just now failing to load discs however. Haven’t looked in to replacing the drive yet as my model 2 still works.
Time to get a mode 
Most consumer HD CRTs could not do 720p and instead scaled 720p signals to 1080i.
It was the opposite of LCDs at the time.

I didn’t know that. Interesting! Guess I’ll have to set my switch to do 480p on this set then.
There is no 1080i option on Switch? Wii U had it.
Also, there’s a chance the set can still scale 720p to 1080i.

Yep, it’ll scale 720p to 1080i. The switch definitely doesn’t have a 1080i mode. So weird!

Beautiful. I can’t begin to imagine how good games like Mario Kart 8 look on it - was already impressed by it when I played it on my aging ‘HD Ready’ 720p flat panel Bravia, and that was with ‘raw’ pixels and MK8’s lack of Antialiasing!
Do you have Wii U Breath of the Wild? Paper Mario Color Splash is another Wii U game I’d love to see running on it.
Wow, this goes so well with games that are trying to achieve ‘filmic’ image quality - almost looks like Demon Souls’ opening cinematic.

It’s been a while since I’ve picked anything up, but that’s mostly down to the delayed post. I waited three weeks for HeroLand (Work X Work in Japan), hope it was worth the wait. I’m always on the look out for RPGs that defy genre convention.

The PS2 I picked up a while back but forgot to post. It’s a Japanese model so I can finally stop using my modded PS1. The laser sucks in that thing.
The PS4 Pro I got for super cheap because it had a busted HDMI port. I’m just waiting on the port to arrive.
Got lucky that Pokemon Blue had a working battery. But I’m going to have to wipe the save since the previous owner named themselves after a female private part and was a fan of glitches.
Also either I’ve gotten worse at platformers or Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is way harder than I remember when I played it as a kid.

I adore Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, definitely one of my favourite and most memorable games ever. So I had to pick up the design materials book. I’m glad it’s still in print!
I’ve got my sights on Sakimoto’s felicitous soundtrack next…it hasn’t been in print since the 2002 release but hopefully there’s a copy floating around Yahoo Auctions.

Finally bought another MVS game! Played a few rounds with my wife last night. This game is a blast. I can see it being a fun party game whenever we’re past this pandemic.
