RGB Pick Up Thread Of Swag!

Spoilt myself with a few online purchases (SSX and Extreme G3… and one more on the way) only to irresponsibly go looking at hard off a couple days later. Hard to resist prices to say the least. Oh well

I received this very promising Chinese handheld this week. I wanted a portable device to play around with, add some fan-translated roms, play arcade games or some of the 16-bit classics. As far as the build quality of the device goes, it’s really good. I believe they use exactly the same analog sticks as the Nintendo Switch and the D-pad isn’t bad either. I also got this delivered in one week, from China to the Netherlands, which is crazy fast.

Nice to see a cheeky appearance from Wario Land 4!!! If you haven’t played it you’re in for a treat, amazing game.

Getting a bit of a nostalgia trip from the other games, but I never did play Waiwai Golf, is that the one developed by Telenet Japan? (@matt)

I picked this bundle up for £20 recently:

Sadly the Game Gear needs work and probably a new screen:

but the casing at the very least is immaculate.

I might end up doing a repair log for it, but not a high propriety for me at the moment and I really don’ t want another Mcwill screen.

I also finally have a original SMS that I managed to win as a minimum £6 auction bid:

Really wanted to end up with Safari Hunt + Hang On built in SMS but this one has Alex Kidd.

This SMS was supposed to have none working video output but worked fine and even got sent an official Power Brick that I wasn’t aware was even included. So think I did pretty well.

Nice haul!

Got a mint Saturn copy of Metal Black for only $65, will be my first time playing it, can’t wait.

I have indeed played Wario Land 4 before! I used to have the JP version before but sold it many years ago. Then got it with the 3DS Ambassador games, but wanted it again cause the scaling sucks on those releases (and now I can play it thru GBI as well!)

The golf game is indeed by Telenet. Swingerz Golf outside of Japan I believe. For the price figured I may as well pick it up to compare with Mario Golf.

Last of my online pickups just arrived as well. This was only 555Y, crazy!

I love Metal Black, can’t wait to read your impressions!

I didn’t get to the audio mixing yet, bit he’s already mentioned something about PSIO, and their bad mannered staff.

I love the RGB output of the Famicom\NES. It’s probably my favourite visual upgrade.

Best of luck with your mod.

It’s not long after that - he doesn’t do a great job of explaining it while he’s doing it but all there is to it is connecting the NESRGB to the CPU pins, cutting a leg off the ASIC on the Famicom and soldering a resistor leg to the NESRGB.

Thanks! I’ll be attempting it later in the week when I have a bit more time up my sleeve - I don’t want to rush it.

Expansion audio mixing is the one thing which isn’t quite perfect with my machine.

The everdrive implementation is a pretty good substitute though.

I’ll let you know how it goes - I’ll be using an N8 pro for the most part myself.

Got lucky today at the flee-market sale in the main square in town today. picked up this logitech ifeel mouseman in perfect condition for 1,-. It will be added to my xp gaming rig. Not too many games support it’s haptic feedback. But I remember unreal tournament 2k4 having decent support.

First package from Japan arrived as well.
Perfect condition blue psp 3000, as well as this new 3ds LL, which needs a new battery cover plate, but is otherwise mint.

Here’s the first lot of psp 1000’s as well.

I got some non-working gamegears on the way too that I intend to fix and mod with new screens.

Super cool! Was it a particularly spendy board?

Not at all, about 160 bucks plus shipping and customs. Definitely a very cool game, and it looks right at home in a cab. Shame the home ports don’t really support TATE AFAIK, could be wrong.
