Today was a very good day locally. Now that I’m spending more time closer to Philly, I can hit up Game and DVD Exchange in Media (Angry Video Game Nerd’s home store) as well as Classic Game Junkie in Glenside a lot more often.
I could honestly spend hundreds at both places, but I’m a little more choosy these days as it has to be something I want to play, be within reason on ebay pricing and be in excellent condition. I’ll remove stickers and clean them up later. Thought you all would find the pricing handy for in store expectations these days. There was a lot more there and I will go back, but this was today’s haul…
It crushed me inside that when SNK pulled the NGPC off the market and recalled all their stock. They then destroyed all the game boxes and manuals and liquidated just the games themselves and sold them in those blister packs.
Snagged this DSi XL cutie at the thrift store for what I would call “pre-pandemic pricing” of $20… “as is, no charger”. It was pretty dirty! Screens are near perfect, all of my other DSi XLs (two blues, one Mario) have yellowing screens, this one’s colors look perfect! I’m satisfied.
I so rarely see any boxed NGPC games at local retailers. Heck, I was amazed they had a lot of NGPC to choose from at Classic Game Junkie! I hadn’t gotten anything since I bought the system with Neo Turf Masters and Match of the Millennium. Was really happy to add those three to the collection.
Been having a lot of fun with Deathsmiles this week after it arrived. Going to go for a 1cc today, so hopefully I have something for the shmup thread, and I’ll take some shots for the scanline thread too.
don’t listen to the haters, you done good! they apparently go for a bit now? got mine for free ages ago because someone thought it was dead when the ribbon just needed cleaning haha
Picked up a copy of NG3 from a game store today. It’s been on my to-get list for a long while, so I’m happy I was able to snag a copy in good condition. Before this I had only been able to play it via emulation and through my Xbox NG version.
