I have that case for Vita. It’s a tank.
Your vita will survive a nuclear explosion in that thing.
Haven’t posted in a while, but this little powerhouse just showed up today. Portable Steam library (and pretty much everything else you can run on a PC
).
Can’t wait to play around with it!
I have the exact same setup (OLED R2 grip, so good) but does it fit inside that case? I’ve been looking for something purpose built that is big enough
Nice!
How’s Dariusburst CS? I bought an expensive PS4 physical copy but I see it’s one sale on PSN now so may go that route and sell the physical. PC seems much better, cheaper and ultra wide support, but I don’t have a PC for gaming. ![]()
Thanks for the tip @dubc !
I didn’t try playing it ultra-wide on my desktop yet, but you gave me the urge to try, so thanks! ![]()
The game is fantastic, I’m so thankful that we’re still getting amazing new shooters released pretty regularly.
No it doesn’t fit inside the tank case with the grips on. I’m on the hunt for a case that will
Been having a lot of fun with ESP Ra.De in the past few days. What a game and what a port.
I didn’t even realize this came out on 3DS. Does it have stereoscopic 3D or is it only a 2D-mode game?
I had a quick search and it apparently does have stereoscopic 3D! I need to pick this up…
It is in 3D.
However, it’s not the greatest 3D. It seems fine to start with, layers of parallax are on separate 3D planes etc, which looks good. But then I started to see some flaws.
Eg, the game itself uses 3D space in animations with ships moving from the background to the foreground, but they stay on one plane in game. Also a few items have the 3D ‘wrong’ eg the tops of some moon crater volcanoes are obviously a sprite placed on top of background tiles in game, but in 3D they stick out.
So I’m playing in 2D mostly, or with the slider mostly down.
It’s still a fantastic game well suited to the 3DS’s screen however. Kinda like a Neo Geo Axelay sequel
EDIT: Actually I changed my mind, the 3D is great, as long as it’s not set at the top level! It seems there are about four ‘3D scaling’ levels programmed in, you can see it pop between them as you use the slider.
Dialled down one notch and it looks fantastic, scaling is tidied up, ships do fly in and out of the field quite well at points. There are still bugs (like the volcanoes I mentioned) but overall it’s great.
Yeah there’s some minor horizontal shimmering in 2D on some items, but not in 3D in the same way lol. Hard to decide which to use sometimes, as 2D is very crisp otherwise.
And yeah some weirdness/bugs like the busted intro logos (what the guy says in the video doesn’t really make sense though, stretching the logos horizontally isn’t the issue here, they have vertical compression issues, very much looking like 480 downscaled to 240, which is presumably what the issue is), and menu behaviour (all items flash when you select an item, instead of just the one selected). Plus the kinda dumb image of a guy piloting a ship on the bottom screen.
But again, as a whole it’s still looks good. I looked up footage of the Switch/PS4 version and it seemed to be a bit blurry? Like a filter was run over it during the upscale. On 3DS at 240p it’s crisp.
Really excited to put this thing through its paces but sadly the local supplier for the Monoprice DB15 to BNC cable fell through and I had to order from the US. So it will be a long couple of weeks waiting for that to show up.
Bought some of those Firebrand X recommended PSUs
Some more not-that-exciting pickups: various caps, fuses, and voltage regulators for the SNES
Ordered from Japan on Monday. All the games shown arrived on Thursday via FedEx. Considering I just had an awful mess with FedEx and an iPad, I was feeling pretty lucky this went so smoothly. Also super happy to finally be able to play all these games.
Yep… the Sega Rally Championship in the Sega Rally 2006 bundle is unopened! It is 98% likely I will open it. ![]()
My Limited Run Games edition of NGPC Vol.1 finally came in. Ordered it almost a year ago. It was bigger than I thought it would be. Posted a NGPC game next to it for a size comparison. The book is great and 153 pages long.
I recommend you do!
It’s an amazing version (perhaps the very best) of maybe the best arcade racing game ever!
Sorry for all the hyperbole! Hahahah ![]()
