Another addition to the PC Engine CD collection.
Avenger from Telenet. As with most Telenet games, this is average at best. But it was the first shooter on the CD format.
ah man those Cave steelbooks are so nice!
I posted a bunch of new pickups in the Sega 8-bit thread,
Family Games, Masters Golf and Seishun Scandal on Mark III:
They just don’t make box art like this anymore.
SG1000 Chack n Pop
Now I have Chack n Pop and Bubble Bobble on both Nintendo (Famicom and FDS) and Sega (SG1000 and Mark III).
Also these cute Pikmin Terraniums, I’ve only made one up so far.
Plus a truckload of Switch stuff to sit on the backlog indefinitely! Though I have managed to play a bunch of Aleste and Air Twister.
Some lovely classics you have there. Love the cover on family Games.
dead sexy! where’d you find that gem?
Bought from here (ships worldwide), there were three in stock when I bought one but sadly out of stock now: https://www.retrogamingposters.com/category/dreamcast?page=2
Rockin’.
I had to throw away a lot of old magazines since I’m moving. Letting go GamesTM, EGM, Hardcore Gamer, PC Gamer, Nintendo Force, Nintendo Power, and some others too. I’m holding onto Next Generation (historically significant IMO), Computer Games Strategy Plus/Computer Games Magazine (the mag I most wrote for), Games for Windows: The Official Magazine (again… I’m in it), and Retro Gamer. I’ve stopped collecting print Retro Gamer though. I only read it in the app on iPad now. I just couldn’t justify moving everything and I don’t have time to find a home for all of it. I think the Video Game History Foundation has all of those too so my holding onto them isn’t that important.
As for pickups…
Sounds like it is too late, but for others that want/need to get rid of magazines, you can donate them to the Video Game History Foundation. If they already have a copy they’ll add it to their mystery subscription so at least it stays in use. Presumably you can media mail them so it wouldn’t be too expensive to ship.
As I noted, I think they have all the stuff I have. I can’t fathom the cost to box these up and send them to them just so they can send them out to other people. We’re talking pounds and pounds of paper.
smh, I somehow completely missed that. Sorry
Delivery from Kyoto this morning…
Nintendo’s entry level Hanafuda deck is called Miyako No Hana, flowers of the capital. It has been manufactured for around a century. This particular deck is brand new and currently in production.
I was expecting the cards to be small and well made, but nothing can prepare you for holding them in real life! There are so many classy details throughout the packaging.
My favourite element is this plastic casing, which makes it easy to protect the cards while travelling.
Looking forward to playing Koi-Koi with my partner this summer!
