RGB Streemz: Retro Game Streams by the Community for the Community

We have such a great community, I thought it’d be fun to start regularly scheduled streaming: a time where we can all get together and share what we love doing: playing video games.

Eventually it’d be great to get more members streaming and having fun, but for now I’m committing to one stream every two weeks at least (hopefully every week). I’ll be focusing on Retro Computer Games, as I feel it’s not something that everyone is familiar with and may be fun for people to discover.

I want this to be as interactive as possible: so with that in mind, I’d love everyone to vote on what I’ll play each week from a few choices. That way I’m playing something that people want to watch. Also, I’m fine talking to myself, but I tend to be a more personable host when I responding, so I hope everyone who’s able to watch will chat and have fun.

+1 for Alone in the Dark

Alone in the Dark, its always cool to see early survival horror.

One thing for me when i stream, im usually in a room opposite from my pc, so i can never see actual comments / or im streaming full screen.

Havent been able to do it as much as I’d like, but im aiming for showing more obscure or overlooked games.

Well, it looks like I’m playing Alone in the Dark! Good thing GOG gives out the manuals as well, I’ll be reading that before the stream tonight, which can be found by Clicking Here!

Thanks everyone for watching the first stream! Looks like I mumble and may need to turn up my mic next time, but I made some decent enough progress in Alone in the Dark. Hopefully people enjoyed watching it as much as I enjoyed doing it, and I look forward to trying to progress further soon!

If you want to catch up, the link for the archived stream is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAZF-EApzeo

I’ll try to catch the archive soon. I’ll try to join in at some point; I can’t commit to any kind of streaming schedule due to personal life responsibilities but I’d love to try it out one night.

Sounds good! Let me know when you’re going to stream and I’ll add a link to the OP!

Hey everyone,

Happy Easter! I’ll be streaming later today at 3:00pm EST (12:00 Pacific). I’ve looked through some of the old DOS games kicking around, and decided to revisit a game I haven’t played since I was very small indeed:

ringworld_2__medium

Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch, based on the novel series by Larry Niven, was released in 1992. It’s the first release by Tsunami Media, which was made up of mostly former Sierra-On-Line employees, and therefore it feels very familiar to those who grew up with Sierra’s games. Music was also done by Ken Allen, who composed a fair number of Sierra games including King’s Quest 5 and Space Quest 4, so you know it’s going to be top notch.

Let’s see how far I can get, and how many times I can die! I remember very little about this game, except for vague memories of one sequence that was particularly frightening as a kid. I’m sure I’ll recognize it and point it out on stream, and I’m sure it’s not that scary.

Link will be posted once I start streaming, hope you can all join me!

It’s an echo chamber in here! Thankfully we don’t have a rule about double (or triple posting)

I will be streaming again Today, April 2, at 8:45 EST!
