It’s been a while since I tinkered with my scaling config I use for all my 6th gen consoles. I got the OSSC Pro a while ago but I had it chained into a capture device that didn’t like the higher resolution modes and didn’t feel like messing with it for a while. Today I sat down and updated the firmware, played around with the scanline, shadow mask, and scaling algorithm settings. I think I have things looking really nice now. Here is a comparison of an emulator at 1x mode and my PS2 (game forced to 480p with GSM) through OSSC Pro

I played Earthion all evening, I’m in awe at how good looking it is. True low res classic 2D art.

Got the game running in my Dell Trinitron PC CRT at fake 240p (320x240 @ 120 Hz) forced through the nVidia control panel i, game lets you remove filters and borders, and scale accordingly so there’s no scrolling shimmer.

EDIT: I’m playing the Steam version. Please don’t pirate this wonderful release, support Koshiro / Ancient, this is the best 20 bucks I’ve spent on a game in a long while.

Finally got a setup with the MiSTer at 480p that my monitor likes without losing sync for GBA and PSX which don’t work well with the scandoubler.

640x480 @85 Hz, vsync_adjust = 1, integer scaling on

Added a bit of horizontal interpolation to slightly soften the image (another perk of using the scaler) as otherwise it is extremely sharp

Donkey Kong Country 3, MiSTer SNES core.

Some of these shots are from the Retrotink 4k which I tried to match up to my D-Series. think it cleans up pretty well
