SCANLINE SCREENSHOT THREAD. BECAUSE 240p IS ALL THE P'S I NEED. (56k warning)

Still too busy to do any gaming but have been enjoying some shots from around the web.

Yea, I agree with the others, leave them up. They’re cool. We don’t bite.

SDMasterYoda is such a cool username :joy:

“Do 240p. Or do not. There is no try.”

I love the first one, I wish I can find a nice shadow mask display CRT someday.

They are excellent. Better than aperture grille in my humble opinion. I tossed a really great one a few years ago due to geometry issues and really regret not trying harder to save it.

A few shots I’ve been sitting on for a while.

After the fight against Nightmare King Grimm (fricken hard late/post-game fight).
This game is so, so great. Please consider playing it if you like platforming, exploring, no hand-holding, mood, design vision, and challenge. Old - school design and development principles in a modern package.

The bomb shop in Clock Town is apparently powered by a Gamecube, with attached Game Boy Player. Sorry about the glare.

Majora’s Mask on New 3DS XL

What Rockman 9 could have sorta looked like if it actually ran at 240p. Pity it runs poorly in this setup.
I have had good success with some N64 titles, which might be how I tackle Ogre Battle eventually.

Some Mario Kart 64 with the kids.

The back of a Ferrari 512BB '76 from the I-C licence test no. 10. This test was a bit of a grind, but very satisfying to finally win. Would flip off Lambo drivers again :+1:.
The whole picture is a bit letterboxed, but I love how clean 720p looks on this trio dot mask.

Started up Illusion of Gaia after finishing up Actraiser. Also messed around with Phantasy Star for shits and giggles.

That’s such a nice set you’ve got. Great shots.

I’m convinced I should take the plunge on an RGB mod on a 20" consumer set I have lying around.

I recommend it!, the brightness of a good consumer CRT with RGB input is a sight to behold. Markozlad from shmups did the mod for mine, which was apparently one of the harder ones to do as he had to hijack the teletext input instead. My understanding is most other models are much simpler though.

Man Teletext… is it weird I kinda miss it?

I miss teletext too. Got fond memories of reading GameCentral (and before then, Digitiser) over my breakfast…

Not exactly scanlines, but I just got my EZFlash Omega and played around with it for a bit tonight on my AGB-101 (modded AGB-001 w/ AGS-101 screen).

I couldn’t help but snap some more shots of Illusion of Gaia, I was really taken by the art in Mu and the colour palette reminded me of Alundra so I booted that up and noodled around for a while. Plus some bonus Ridge Racer Type 4!

All taken on my KVAR25M31 via RGB SCART, Alundra and RR4 were taken on a PS2 via RGB as I’m still waiting on my PSIO to arrive.

Awesome pics. All the excitement of these new screens with better refresh rates going on but none of them have the LCD grid look of the 101, I wish they’d include a filter T_T

@Listai Never played Illusion of Gaia but I’ve been enjoying those shots you’ve been posting. Love the bonus Type 4 shots too.
