I can also vouch for Plastx and Novus 1/2/3 is also really good.
Paprium investor’s box + Xeno Crisis both showed up while i was out of town for work - GOAT system getting a revival over here!
What is the Goat system?
Genesis, I assume
Maybe but still not sure what GOAT could stand for.
Greatest Of All Time!
This was a really cool & informative video about the hardware capabilities of the Genesis, used in some of the system’s most complicated games.
What’s funny is that video popped in to my recommendation list the other day. I thought is was okay but nothing amazing.
Just played Sonic CD in 240p for the first time on my newly acquired Sega CD.
If playing in RGB is wrong, I don’t want to be right. It looked incredible.
Perhaps a mislabeled title in that it’s more CRT vs fixed pixel and a realization of the differences when using their RGB vs composite outputs during development. I have the Genesis collection on PS3 and Steam, but I don’t think I’ve played either. If I want to play one of the games I play on og hardware or MiSTer.
Either way, and not directed at you @Peltz, play the way that brings you enjoyment. Who cares what someone on the internet says.
This is exactly how I feel.
RGB output on these old consoles looks far better than they did as a kid, and that’s how I like it. I’m happy they look as good as they do, I think it’s incredible!
Playing in RGB is never wrong.
Next year it will be 30 years since the initial release of Snatcher on Sega CD. How is it in all that time, given its status as a cult classic, Kojima original, that we still haven’t gotten a re-release on some current platform?
I could probably name a bunch of other games that deserve it too, but this one just seems criminal in 2021 for lack of availability outside Japan. Sure, you can emulate, etc. but given Nintendo releasing Famicom Detective Club all these years later, would it be that hard for Konami to dig up the Sega CD version and put it out there? Real money is available for it.
I’ve still never played it. It’s far too pricey now.
That’s always baffled me, too. You’d think this would have been one that would have come out in the old XBLA days like a decade ago.
Yeah, I really hope we see a Monkey Island style remake of this. I really want to play it.
burn the disc, man! it’s so worth it
I just did. Sound didn’t play during the intro
The first scene looks and sounds cool as hell though. It only confirms I want this game legit somehow some way.
I have a mint condition Pokémon Red and a mint Pokémon HeartGold, both complete in box and they’re going for absurd prices these days. Maybe they could fund this sort of acquisition.
