Returned to Strikers 1945 III tonight for the first time in at least 5-6 months, was able to modestly up my high score from 298,000 to 400,800. The rank in this game gets really nasty fast, thankfully the medal chaining and getting one-hit technical bonuses on the bosses keeps things addictive and fun.

Also enjoyed some Raiden on my Flip Grip in between watching Sunday Night football. No new high score for that run though.

Metal Black is coming to ACA for Switch and PS4 next week. I already have it on Saturn but I’ll get it on Switch regardless, will be a nice way to play it and the leaderboards and caravan modes Hamster includes will also keep things interesting.

having fun with Esp RA.DE again. it’s kind of hard because it’s so different from most other Cave games in that for one, there’s not as much popcorn so you really have to stay on enemies to kill them, and there is no trademark “focus shot” that slows your speed down and helps with tight patterns, so the character selection is quite crucial
also weird quirk about the M2 port, it doesn’t display your score in-game, you have to view it separately? weird. maybe it’s a setting, those are kind of hard to navigate to be fair

For focus shot hold the main shot button instead of tapping it.

that’s what I do. perhaps it’s because auto fire is on?
Autofire will overwrite the focus function of the main shot. You want two main shot buttons mapped and then have one with autofire and one without.

What’s wrong with elevator action on the Saturn? It’s perfect from what I can tell after playing it and the Arcade side by side.
No idea, guess you could always go on Twitter and ask him to clarify.

I’ve been trying out Caravan mode on Metal Black (you can do a run on either stage 1 or 6), no idea how some players are managing to get over 100k on stage 1 but according to ohfivepro who plays the ACA caravan modes avidly stage 1 involves a lot of luck but stage 6 is pure skill. Mine so far:
68,580 on stage 1, # 156, stage 6: 32,030 # 107 yay. 
Anyways, stage 6 is pretty rough but I could see myself doing much better with practice.

Got the Darius Cozmic Revelation boxset from Strictly Limited so have been playing a lot of G-Darius HD this weekend on my Switch (have also been playing the console/PS1 version which was included with the free update), this is my first time playing G-Darius in any form, it’s so good I can’t get enough of it, hands down one of, if not the very best in the series.

how is the HD version over the original? worth getting? I think it’s still on sale for today on the eShop, but I always teeter on whether to get it because I have the PS1 version which is based on the arcade v2, as well as the one that’s on Taito Legends on the PS2 which is the arcade v1
