With the Ray’z collection being out, was in the mood for some RayStorm. Haven’t bought the collection yet, but I think it’s worth it for practically arcade perfect RayCrisis.

Anyways, back to RayStorm. Never spent much time with it before, despite the PCB and PS1 version being on my collection for a while. It’s quite a bit of fun, but more punishing than Rayforce IMO. Finding stage 3 boss a bit punishing, but playing RG type 2 is fun!

I am on a mission con clearing Espgaluda at Taito HEY soon, so I’m practicing at home. My PCB died for a bit, but was able to revive it with the help of some good friends. Tonight I practiced some, I think I can clear it soon.

I’ve also come back to try and clear this. it’s deceptively hard

Yeah, last boss patterns are tricky, quite the difficulty spike at the end of the game.

Finally cleared Espgaluda. On a Sunday Night, too. Now let’s improve that score.

Mega Blast by Taito is tomorrow’s ACA release, first time I’ve heard of it, looks fun. Seems to be semi-comical with some Parodius influence:

Working on clearing Mushihimesama Original. Mid Boss at stage 5 did me in. But at least I can get the extend item without dying now.

I die around the same part lol

I need to start practicing Stage 5, now that I’m getting there more regularly. I got there with 4/5 continues and didn’t beat it argh

Not impossible, but certainly takes lots of practice. Lots of patterns require anticipation and positioning yourself strategically to herd bullets off your way. Bullets are really quick in original so there´s not lots of chance to maneuver if you don´t know whats coming.

exactly, I got cornered a few times because I didn’t know what was coming. those bullet cancel plants taking too long to die got me a few times. I also accidentally picked up a Trace option which isn’t too good in Normal

luckily I can no miss the other 4 levels somewhat reliably now so hopefully the clear comes soon with a bit of practice of Stage 5

Got the special edition for Batsugun, really nice package overall and love the mini art/guide book, also comes with a really nice double sided poster:

Got some time in with Batsugun S-Tribute, I played both on my TV (an LG C2 OLED) in 4:3/yoko mode and in table top TATE and overall the game feels great. Input lag level feels very good to me as someone who has owned the Saturn version for many years and once 1cc’d this game on a 20 inch Sony composite CRT flipped on its side.

Got a friend over for the evening, played some shmups. Got a credit in Mushi still hitting a wall in Stage 5, and a Rosa LVL3 Ex (-) clear on Deathsmiles, though didn’t break my best score.
